Wouldn't this decrease the leaning angle of the bike? If so, it is a decrease in performance for the twisties. So I am assuming there are advantages, but what are they? I am not trying to be sarcastic here, I am trying to learn, so please enlighten my knowledge.

I would have to say no Viking. I have a 4" Karata and the handling characteristics have not changed. The foot peg still hits before anything else would. Believe me when that happens I straighten it up quickly...

I guess that's good news, but what are the advantages of a belt drive vs. the stock enclosed chain drive?

The advantages for me are no more chain slop in the drivetrain, no more oil mist coming from the vent on the inner primary making things dirty, and no possibility of oil getting into my starter and causing problem. I also like the look, and some people say they like the sound of the open primary. Since I am high frequency deaf, I don't know what they are talking about. But I do like the look!

Here's the advantages that I can think of:

1) No more primary cover to pull
2) No more drive chain adjustments
3) No more primary oil changes
4) Easier/quicker clutch removals
5) Sounds great
6) It's just bad azz!!! :D :2thumbs:
