Thanks Chris - My rotor looks nothing like that... very plain. Yours would go with my rims. I'll have to see what Nelson can come up with...

Hell yeah!!! :whoop:

Made some more progess today.. just have to finish up a couple things. Bleed the front brake, mount front fender. Then if the new headlight mount that is on there was chromed I would be DONE. But that will come off and be sent out for chrome monday.

Well boys n girls... if it wasn't for needing the new headlight mount and starting it... I'd be done done done!!

So here's the final break down...

The headlight mount that came with it. Didn't like the way it pushed the headlight out way past the forks and the double joint wasn't stable in my opinion.

So my bud Al and I designed a new one and machining master Steve cut it out

Some slight mod to the cut to allow the light to swivel down more.

Mount it up. don't mind the long bad bolt... just for mock up

BAM

Lights up well too

Low beam has a nice wide spread

Hi beam is high and tight

Also got the front wheel hub back from Steve and mounted that up with the crush axle spacer

Mount the rotor on

Then throw it on the forks, and mount up the caliper with some small shims to center on rotor.

Mucho better on the clearance

Hung the brake line with clamps

Pulled the tank to mount the speedo and tidy up the wiring

Put the tank back on with the wires all tidied up and things like the clutch cable and throttle cable stays in place

Assembled my passenger pegs with the newly chromed clevises and new roulette pegs

Decided to set those aside for now...

Strapped the front wheel in place so it wouldn't fall to the side and spill brake fluid all over from the resv.

Bled the brakes which being completely dry ended up being a ROYAL PAIN!!!

Then cleaned up the place a bit. No table is a good thing.

Then hung the front fender in place

What do you know... she's in like Flint!!!

With the brakes working, we put her back on the rubber, cleared the bubble wrap from under her and got to try out the new kickstand. Looks like it will work GREAT!! Real solid feel when you lean it. No more wobble out when you lean it over! Plus the lean angle seems to be JUST RIGHT!

Put the condor back on, wheeled forward...

And that's how we do it SON!

At the end of the project I ended up with all these empty zip locks that I used to sort the pieces. Used a helper beer bottle to show you just how many were used

Got rid of the table and the garage is returning to normal...

Got a contractor using the garage Monday morning for a home improvent project, so slide the sporty over and cover them both up... till next weekend when we fire it up like a un-vailing.

My utmost gratitude to Alhall, Cavracer (steve), Vickie, Nelson, Chopper Dave, Big House, Eric (Choppin Steel), Jake (lowdownchopshop), boys at Full Throttle, Exotic Coatings, Browns, and everybody here that has helped out in any way. Without the support of these people this would not have been possible.

Last and definately not least... my wife. For all the countless hours I spent in the garage, her car being outside all winter, me being in a bad mood for whatever, and supporting me as a good wife does. You're simply the best!

didn't want to bother with that... had other projects going on with those... if that is all I have to polish that's ok.
