Replacing front wheel bearings 2007

Hi Guys,

I want to replace the front wheel bearings this year and in the past I would have a local shop do it when replacing the tire but I want to do the work this time. I haven't looked real close at the hubs where the seal sits to determine the method of removal. Haven't check the manual text yet either.

My question is:
Do you need to remove the wheel hubs and then press the bearings out towards the inner face of the hub...

OR

Do you press the bearings out from the inside of the hub outwards?

I am taking pics of my inverted front fork seal replacement as well.

my 05 press from outside, in..brake hub and wheel hub bolts will be red locktited and tight! the inverted forks are a little tricky....

Kaptian Amerika and i just replaced mine in my front hub without removing the hubs. We just punched them out and put new ones in. My disc is so loctited in i couldn't get the screws out. It wasn't to difficult.

Just be conservative with the loc tite and don't use High Heat High Strength Red, 2760 I believe is what Loc Tite calls it, or you will not get your hub screws out without destroying them.
If you punch or press the bearings out DO NOT reuse them.
Install new only

Will be replacing with Timken bearings. Waiting to get upper fork tubes rechromed berfore reassembly.

I bought a "slide hammer" bearing puller and it will pop the bearings out in just a couple taps when doing the front wheel. The rear is a bigger job because you will have to pull the drive pulley.

Easy as just get a piece of steel bar long enough and tap gently working around and from side to side DO NOT just smack them out as the hub is Aluminum and you WILL expand the bearing seat.
Then press them in OR using a piece of threaded rod and oversized washers slowly tighten the nuts this will work everytime.:up:
