EHC

Hi fellow big dogs Does any body out there have a EHC for a 2006 pitbull that was working with no problems before it was removed? I would be willing to buy it. I seem to be having issue and its looking like it might be the EHC. I'm just trying to see if that the problem before i fork out the money for WP kit. Ive done all the trouble shooting and also replace the ignition module and its kinda of looking like that might be it but just wanted to make sure before i pulled the trigger on it. Thanks in advance

It pops real bad when down shifting. When its in neutral and you try to rev it same thing happens but if you roll into it easy it will rev fine. Goes through the gears fine when you ride it. Just happens when shifting down or at a light when u get ready to take off. Ive checked everthing made jet changes.

Well, the good/bad(?) news is that the only thing the EHC has do with ignition is supplying 12V to the ignition module. As long as it does that it can't have anything to do with how the bike runs.

Sounds like you may be running a little lean. What type of air cleaner and pipes you running and was the scoot re-jetted or anything? As Dennis mentioned, it don't sound like an EHC issue...

I know you've heard this before Jason but that sounds like an accelerator pump problem. In your original thread about this problem I didn't see that you ever answered Knuckles' question about how the spray looked when twist the throttle?

The bike has v/h big radius pipes and a spike filter. If i take the spike filter off it still runs the same... I originally sent the carb to bob at xxx and he sent it back i put it back on the bike and it ran perfect. Took it out for a ride one night and this all started. Contacted bob after trouble shooting he thought it was an ignition prob but told me to send the carb back so he could check it. spoke with him 2 days later he didnt find anything wrong with it sent it back and i re installed it and same thing has been happening. I checked to see how the accelerator pump was squirting when i installed it and it was fine but havent checked the last couple of times.

my 2 cents,,, did xxx rebuild your accel pump and you have it backed out toward the end then most likely it is correct,, you mentioned you replaced your ignition , did you re-time it ?

I replaced the ignition module. Did not know I needed to set the timing I was under the impression it was a plug and play. The problem I'm having is that one minute it rides fine no problems at all then next time it starts acting up. Popping back firing and seems like it loses a cylinder. So that's why I was thinking it was the ehc

ehc is power only to ignition,,, if its cutting out on 1 cyl its something else, it maybe the coil but hard to tell without hearing/seeing it

Your bike has a crank sensor. No need to set timing. Do you have the stock Accell spark plug wires?

It has new plug wires (twisted 12mm) ngk plugs. I replaced the coil when this first started happen and it wasn't that. I will check the connections to the coil and make sure they are secure and clean.

Sounds like something is expanding when the motor is hot and not maintaining proper contact.
If you have done the coil, leads, plug, 12 volt conections, VR working and the carb is ok.
Then
I am leaning towards the ignition module, rare on HD's and simular set ups such as BDM.
But i had a simular issue on a late model Fatty.

Worth a shot IMO.

The TWISTED can be your problem!!!! do a search and you will see.... these wires created a lot of headaches to many people!
