I don't have an 08 just he 04 ridgeback. There is nothing like it. You can't ride it on rough roads is about the only thing.- you have to go slower because it will beat your back. I have rode mine over 500 miles in a day , but usually 100-200 miles before your butt notices it don't have shocks! The passenger thing is not so good. My wife says there is no way she is riding on those suctions cups on the back fender. She rode with me about 12 miles one time. My daughter rides a harley and whines about trading it for a harley. I tell her she has lost her mind!

Ray says go for it!

you already own a hardtail but it should have a spring mounted seat so there would be a difference there. the ridgeback is a lot longer so the slow turns would take a little more advanced thinking but that shouldn't be that much trouble. as Ray said and i'm sure you know by living in jersey, watch out for the bad roads.

I think the 2008 Ridge Back rides better than the 2008 Pit Bull. My friend had a Big Dog dealership and I use to ride bolth. My soft tail beats them bolth hands down.

not quite sure why the hard tail ridgeback gets such a bad rap? wife and i went 750 miles one way to sturgis last year in 2 days and she didnt complain once about her bony azz hurtin, with the length and the front forks moving it sorta floats down the highway,, sticks like glue in the corners, rough roads suk big time but riding a bike u better b on the ball, weather its potholes or shit in the road,,u better b ready

Been over 27,000 miles on mine since 08'. 57 years young, Potholes and bridge abutments will get your attention sometimes. (Hit a pot hole at 75 mph and had to stop and lay down as it racked my huevos pretty good!!). Just have to always be on lookout. Other than that I love it. Had homemade hardtails in 70's and 80's that rode a lot worse. Personally I like the stance and look of the bike better than most. A lot of guys on the forum with RB's ride 400-600 miles a day and no complaints. IMO I think you will love it. :2thumbs:

I agree with Jason but also, that 330 back tire is similar to having a back shock. Reach back there and you can fell the back fender going up and down like there is a shock. If you are in shape and have a good back, I would not hesitate.
