Big CIty baffles in stock pipes: opinion needed

I have an 08 K9 with fuel injection. Stock pipes with the washers knocked out are the exhausts. My question is this: has anyone installed any of the Big City Baffles in their stock exhaust system and if so, what is/was your opinion of the sound? Mean Mothers would probably be my first choice but even the stock look good (and a whole lot cheaper!). Just want to see if I can boost the decibels some. Thanks for your help.

I like the stock pipes so I took the baffles out still wasn't enough sound I the installed 2+2 v+h big radius took those baffles out installed BCT baffles and they sound better than the v+h baffles did and its not too loud of which I thought it might be.

Hey Joey. What is it about the stock pipes that you like? Is it the two into one look that you like? Is it cause you already have them? Is it the sound alone you want to change or looks and sound? I have an easy fix possibly.

I don't have a problem with look of the stock pipes. I'm really more about making my presence known. Louder would be good. I really like the Mean Mothers. Had them on my last K9 but since this K9 has fuel injection that means there is a sensor in the rear exhaust pipe and I've never seen Mean Mothers for a fuel injected K9 offered for sale. Thus, since I don't have a problem with the 'stock' pipes, for the money I'll stay with 'em. Just looking to improve on the sound, if possible.

This is a photo which you can vaguely see my exhaust. What I did for the two into one is pull off the slip on part. I went to an auto parts store that had some automotive exhaust turn out/down and put it on in place of the slip on. I cut slits about two inches long in the part that slides over your header pipe and tightened it with a hose clamp that was on it previously.

:flag:Hey Joey. I put a set of mean mother slip ons from supertrapp. They have the perforated baffles in them and the sound is awesome !!! They look a lot like our stock exhausts. they bolt up to the original pipes. plug and play. I think mine were around 350 to 400 bucks. give bruce shultz a call at 1-216-265-8400 at supertrapp. He will work with you. If he doesn't send me a email.:2thumbs:

thanks for that info Tom, I'll do just that and call Bruce Monday. Should be interesting. You wouldn't happen to have any photos of those slip ons would you? Love to see them if you do.

Mike: can certainly appreciate the ingenuity as well as the uniqueness of your approach. Not what I'm after looks-wise but it is simpler and no doubt raises the decibel level of the exhaust. Kinda neat though!

Hey Mike, I've had mine exactly like yours on my 04 Mastiff, love the sound. Sounds much better than my 08 Mastiff with the V&H pipes.

I remember you posting this pic a few months ago. Awesome pic but I never noticed the exhaust until you pointed it out this time. Looks neat. I just don't have that type ingenuity.

If its something you liked I could do it here then send it to you. It takes all of ten minutes. Literally. Depending on what exhaust you have now you may or may not need to adjust your carb.

I wish I would have known months ago. I have a V&H now, but I would have definitely taken you up on the offer beforehand.
