I have to file my basket down a couple times a year, cheap fix for the faulty basket or plates your choice. My stupid question is which plate do you start with. I thought it was plate then fiber ending with plate. If this is true Im missing some plates. If its fiber to start and end fiber Im ok. The kids were using them for NINGA Stars...Using a Parana Jr:lol:

Here is the deal of design:

1st Plate = Friction plate has to run with the big outer basket and kisses that first.

Final Plate = Friction pate ends as the last plate. The pressure plate closes the deal.

So the latter part of your question is, no plate is in the toy trunk with the ninja turtles.

Tks for your help, Guess I had a brain fart, Jim from Karata also called and let me know how to install the plates. I guess when I saw the kids tossing them around like juggling rings i freaked...They should get out of intensive care in time for school...

TIP....
I run into similar issues, resulting in a rattle/creep. I have a couple of clutch packs lying around. Although many of you may not agree, here's something I do that helps get rid of that rattle/creep and works well !!!!!

To begin with I throw in an "ADDITIONAL PLATE - SMOOTH", this pushes the entire stack forward by a few, eliminating the plate from getting caught in the grooves/wear that has been created. Then follow by inserting the entire clutch stack i.e. Start with Friction end with Friction (can't remember for sure but I think there are a total of 16 plates - "plus" the additional smooth plate you throw in, making it a GRAND TOTAL of 17 plates) - This is a one time fix, then its either file the basket or get a new one.

Hope that helps :2thumbs:

fyi...i think karatas new plates are thicker and dont groove the basket as quickly...ive been running the thicker plates about 2000 mi now without any grooving...
