Spark plug wire questoin

Hello folks, Just have a question about the sparkplug wires on our bikes, I bought a set of Twisted wires they look great and are fat and red, but the Big Dog wires have some sort of spacer/filler where they go into the coil. the Twisted wires dont. inside the coil is just the tiny post. long story short. the new wires dont have anything to attach to inside. the coil (I do have a EIF bike but dont think that has anything to do with it) does it. I have three set one Black, one Red and one Yellow none of which are worth a shit. The bike run better with the stock wires.

Surely need a photo. What you're did ribbing sounds like the signal wires on the back of the coil?
