in reality, this thread seems to have turned into a battle of opinions and nothing is being accomplished, which is a terrible thing when all PitbullKC wants is to have his scoot running again.

IMO, this has turned into a list of diagnostics for the 3amigos:

1. Fuel - Instead of diagnosing if it is the cock, filter, hose collapse, drain the bowl if it has a drain screw. That says it flows out of every-body-part, like the electrics flow from wire to jobber to grounding the garage floor with fuel, I think the flow is not in question LOL. Idle says both jets are clean. Home he don't need no accel pump, because the throttle can be slowly opened and override the accel pump.

2. Compression - You open another thread, This is the first question I will ask, or chase your tail as you are doing now. Process of elimination is way too simple here and I am not confused.

3. Spark - With the female pin out of the connector; the flicker of the lights; the last known work the OP did on the bike and now no start? Kind of points to spark or the electrics, if flicker was pointed out by the OP.

I find that if you walk away from the bike for a day or two, you come back with a fresh whatever. You then see the 20/20 hindsight of it.

LMAO.....I was just thinking this has gotten out of control..haha can you guys VISUALIZE in your mind what would happen if we were ALL TOGETHER in a shop with this bike........LOL IT WOULD be completely torn apart in a thousand pieces with all of us disecting it...hahah.......I think the EHC mikey is sending will help eliminate that issue...

I myself wondered if there was a internal defect with the EHC....

Well fellas.... I got an update!

This past week I spent time:
1) Pulling BIG chunks of green liner out of my tank with metal close-hangers, tweesers, and a flashlight!
2) Then thoroughly cleaning it out with acetone & chain. (FYI-this sucks!)
3) Cleaning my petcock out w/ air compressor clearing all debris. (I broke my stupid petcock screen/filter doing this which they don't make anymore):bang:
4) Re-cleaned my carb. (about the 10th time)
5) Removed fuel lines & replaced them.
6) Installed a glass inline filter so I could see what's going on as far as fuel delivery.
7) Went back through all my wiring checking for loose connections, broken wires, bad ground, etc.

So here's what I did for trouble-shooting:
ELECTRICAL
1) Using multi-meter I checked: battery, ignition switch, ignition module, coils, voltage regulator / stator.
2) Turn ignition "ON"...checked my headlight & blinkers.
3) Hit "Run" and made sure the red light on my ignition module lit up for a few seconds then went back off.
4) Then while pressing "START", I made sure red light on ignition module blinked. (which showes it cam sensor/trigger plate is working)
5) Also pulled plugs & checked for spark

FUEL:
1) Turned petcock "ON" and made sure fuel flowed to carb by watching my 'temporary' glass filter fill up.
2) Gave the throttle a couple twists and made sure fuel strongly came out of the ejector nozzle and the stream was like a 'fan'.
3) Started her up....
4) After a few minutes I noticed the fuel in the glass filter was NOT flowing into it any longer.
5) I immedietely opened both gas caps to help rule out venting.(still no fuel)
6) I then started cycling the petcock back & forth from off-on-reserve. (At some point while doing this, fuel started to flow back into/through the glass inline fuel filter.)
7) It eventually starved of fuel & died.
*At that point I narrowed it down to obviously a fuel deliver/flow problem.
Here's what I did next to distinguish if it was a carb issue, or a petcock &/or tank venting issue
8) To rule out petcock issue and/or tank venting... I removed the fuel line AFTER the glass inline fuel filter. Basically is all I had was the fuel line coming straight out of my petcock into a bucket. At some point while doing all of this my "glass" inline filter broke. Doh!
I moved my petcock to "RESERVE" and fuel flowed freely.
I then moved petcock to "ON" and fuel flowed freely as well.
9) FINALLY I "think" I have it narrowed down to the carb!!!
I figured it has to be either:
a) Sticking needle in the inlet seat
OR
b) Float height needed adjusted

10) I dropped the carb bowl & inspected the needle & inlet seat. But not much a naked eye can see, even if there was a problem.
11) I hooked the fuel line back up to the carb bowl while it was still off, then turned fuel back "ON" and let it fill the bowl. I've never adjusted the float height before, so at this point I was doing it by trial-&-error. If I remember correctly, I raised the float up quite a bit. Then put the bowl back on the carb.
I ran inside to grab my glasses, which only took about 30sec, cause I was so pumped to let her finally see some daylight again & go around the block.
By the time I got back outside, fuel was spilling out of the overflow tube everywhere! lol
So, for what seemed to be the 20th time this week, I dropped the bowl and re-adjusted the Float height.
This time I took a little more time adjusting it & no fuel spilled out!
12) I let it run for about 3-4minutes then adjusted the 'idle speed' & 'fuel/mixture'. I let it run for a few more minutes and adjusted them again.
13) FINALLY I backed my poor sick pup out of her doghouse & headed down the road!!
14) It actually ran really great & strong. I did have to stop a couple times and re-adjust the carb (fuel mixture/idle speed). I only went for a short ride though because I didn't have everything tightened completely up on it as far as bolts & wires. But more importantly, I don't have a petcock filter/screen on my petcock OR an inline fuel filter to catch any debris that may flow into the carb.

Conclusion/Diagnosis:
I "wish" I could say it was for sure the float height needed adjusted, or my needle was sticking in the inlet valve. But I'm not 100% sure. But to have it narrowed down to just 2 specific parts is 6months in the making!!!
I'll definitely keep everyone updated though.

With all that said, I must thank each and everyone of you guys that took the time & effort to read and respond to my issues.
This is one of the few groups (forums) where the majority of guys/gals are truly class acts! :2thumbs:
I do want to specifically & personally thank these particular members for helping me through PM's/email/phone.... stlmikie, DRBarnhart, Deisel Dan, & bigdogtech01.
Please know, I DID read each & everyone of you who responded/replied with suggestions/opinions. And even though some of you dislike or don't agree with SVEN's (and others) communation/personal skills, he definitely knows his stuff & his input was vital.
But that's what's great about this site... we are who we are.... a bunch of guys/gals who love riding & wrenching on these beautiful Dogs!

Okay, enough of the sappy crap.
FYI- I plan on eventually deleting this thread and starting a new one with all the pertinent info in hopes that it will be helpful to someone else.

Thanks again everyone & God bless :flag::cheers::flag:

Dude!!!!!!!!

I'm 99% sure that yor issue is the glass filter! Pull it off an run the line without the filter and see what happens. Its not the carb. You're starving without the proper gas flow. For shits and giggles give it try an see what happens.

You are talking about the junk glass filter from Drag Specialties or something of the same sort? That would be the issue, it was mine and others for a little while here. Most that run the inline fuel filers run the Pingle set up and never ran into that issue again.

You made a laundry list of fuel walks. Leave the thread alone. You want to do this now. In the generic, a float sits at 90° to the float bowl line. At 45° the float is at full flow. Someone chases a fuel problem, they'll hit both of your threads. I think you can get more out of the float or just check see for sure. See how much filled the bowl with debris too.

Since you know your tang moves now, You want:

1. A straight float from hinge to hinge to float to float. Meaning, if one float leads, it shuts off the fuel sooner. You have a low float bowl level of fuel. That is the very first check see.

2. Just think; angle my float 90° to the bowl/body. You want to have the lower level of the float's design, meaning, find the horizontal fixed point of the float to be @ 90° vertical to the float needle. This too says, I am horizontal to [the carb's horizontal line to the float's bowl] butting up against that horizontal line of the carb's body. Meaning, even if the needle seat/float was sitting in a bowl like an S&S, or the float hanging down like on a Mikuni carb, you aim for that float to be horizontal to the bowl/body in the most anal way. Those two are your site lines; for the float is level to this line no matter the design.

3. You are now at the tang adjustment at this point. The float is level, you have no clue where the tang is sitting now? As soon as you turn that petcock on, you are going to see:

a. No flow = Tang too high. You drop the bowl down till it begins to flow. Adj the tang down and do not upset either side of your floats you [checked] for straightness or that parallel reference to each other.

b. Does not flow = Tang is at ideal setting. Drop a hair down, she begins to flow. Eyeball that float level to the carb body level and there she blows.

c. Flows with float at full up level = Tang is too low. The tang moves up till the flow stops at the anal position. No tools needed but nature's pressure on 90° is the generic level to chase for. Make sense?

:flag: YW

I think you figured it out.

@KaptinAmerika - Thanks bro. I can see how it can get easier now. Especially since I feel like I know my dog better than my wife after all this! :D

@Oscar - I only installed the glass filter the other day. Just so i could use it temporarily to watch the fuel flow. But then it broke anyway! lol
Ordered me a Pingel inline filter yesterday (SS1C).

@SVEN - Thanks for the info bro. That makes sense. Once I get my inline filter in hand, I plan on dropping the carb bowl one last time to check for debris and do what you suggested. Hopefully after that I can give her a one last "once-over" and tighten up the bolts, reinstall intake, dash, etc.
Then HOPEFULLY put a few miles on her before I have to get her ready for winter.:cursin::cry::bang::angry::bang:

As easy as it would be to say, "that was a summer of wasted riding."....
The knowledge I learned from everything is priceless!
And even though I wasn't able to ride her most of this year, I sure enjoyed working on her and learning!!

@Kaptin - I'd love to move to Cali. My wife is from San Diego. And everytime we are on our way back to Kansas after a visit out there, we always ask ourselves why we don't live there!
Unfortunately, because the cost of living is so much higher out there... my descent job here in KS is equal to a minimum wage job out there!

@Deisel Dan - Thanks, me too! Thanks for your input/knowledge as well bro!!
