I've been pricing a set of the CNC performance heads for my 117" in my 05 Chopper DT. After looking around and pricing the heads I'm leaning towards swapping out the 117 to a new polished S&S 124".
My 117 motor is stock with an Andrews 640 cam and 12K miles and runs strong with 124whp. I know the 05 EPA heads are choking the HP numbers.
Basically I'm looking for just the 124 motor only, I'll use all my upgraded parts and accessories and I'm hoping for around 145 to 150whp. I have the S&S Super G with ThunderJet with matching intake, S&S IST ignition and the S&S dual air intake.
Question is what could I get reasonably for my 117 with or without the current cam.
I'd like to hear from you guys on this whether I should go this route or continue looking at heads.
