Looking for some insight from chopper and K9 owners. Currently I have a 04 Mastiff and have been looking for a K9 with the 300 tire. I have never ridden one but love how they look, would like some input from guys you have ridden both type bikes for more than a test ride. Testing one soon but I know I would need more than a few minutes or an hour to get a good feel for the difference. 240 tire on mine, is there a big difference swapping to the 300? What other differences good and bad can I expect. Looking at 07 up, all input welcomed. Thanks!

I had a 09 Mastiff that I traded for a K9. Wanted to have that sit down in the bike feeling that I didn't get with the Mastiff. I think the K9 is a better, smoother ride. Both seem to handle the same. K9 may need a bit more real estate in the tight turns but that doesn't take long to figure out and master. I also owned a Texas Chopper prior to the Big Dogs. It had a 240 rear tire and left side drive. The 300 with right side drive is 100% better handling...perfect balance.

Well I ride a 04 Chopper. Big fat 250 avon tire on the back. Moved up from a Harley softail. Taking corners with the longer front end and wider back tire is a bit different. But it doesn't take long to master. I'll never go back. You'll love it.

you won't have any difficulty, other than turning at very low speeds because of the K9's lenght.

Never ridden a mastiff, but I wouldn't trade my K9 for one. I love how you sit low with a huge front end. They handle surprisingly well for how long they are. Good balance good ride. If you are wanting to change for the look go for it. You won't be disappointed. I can't go anywhere without having people tell me what a nice bike it is.

HEy Guys, I have an 04 Ridgeback with the left side drive (EHC-LESS). I am currently overseas serving and hurt my back.. I am thinking of switching to a newer K9 with the right side drive for balance. Is there that big of a difference? Ridgid/K9? Thanks in advance

Have been riding for a while (35+ years) and have had more bikes than I can remember, have both the Mastiff and K9. In my experience the K9 is definitely on TOP of my list - one of the better bikes I have ever ridden. Very different rides and eventually boils down to personal preference – mine the K9!!!

Does the K9 ride much better than the rigid or close to the same. I am in Fl where the rodes are fairly good for riding. I am just wondering about right side drive as well?

Thanks in advance.

I love my rigid and re-wired it when I got it. Just dont want to get rid of her if it is not much difference. Thanks in advance.

Let's highlight these comments from this thread - "I LOVE MY RIDE" next "PERSONAL PREFERENCE" - given that stick with the Rigid. :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

The Rightside drive is a good alternatative and offers the bike a so called "greater level" of balance.

The K9 will offer up some significant "comfort" mainly due to the shocks.

Hope that helps - enjoy your ride n keep safe
