Question is can you put a 300 rear wheel and tire on a 2005 big dog chopper. I know it comes with a 250. Could you change out the swingarm to accomodate?

Alot more involved than changing swingarm out. From what I have read its very expensive to switch over. Alignment is going to be the big issue. Others will chime in and correct me if i am wrong.

I heard that if you change to a Chain Drive you can increase the tire width. How much more I don't know maybe a 280 or less. I may try that later on once I figure how wide I can go without a wheel change.

You would have to change the swing arm, the rim, the big expence is the transmission due to the output shaft being not far enough out. If the 300 is that big of a deal, I agree, sell the chopper and get a K-9. Personally I love my Chopper with the 250 on the back. But if your dead set on it, look at spending $4000.00 to $5000.00 for the convertion and that's parts, no labor.

I know a guy parting out a K9 and I'm interested as well on buying the swingarm, fender w/struts and wheels. That's if I can line up the belt I will buy the parts. I do know the K9's belt runs on the outside of the frame and my chopper is on the inside. Just a thought.
