M-Unit Update

[GDOG_PITBULL]

So after reading and tracing and printing, etc. the unit is installed. Turn the key on and.......nothing........try and do the programming and ....nothing. No lights anywhere...ignition module, M-Unit.....nada
Not sure if I missed something or what.....the ignition is the Ultima 53-642, not sure what else to list. Bad unit from the factory? No idea. Guess I will wait till Thors or someone finishes a wiring diagram.

So I found a youtube video and it showed a bench set up with the unit and with the addition of one connection the unit powers up and turns the starter but no ignition. I am not getting any fire / power to the ignition. Can anyone tell me how the Ultima 53- 642 need to be wired in? I cannot seem to find where the orange # 13 wire from the key/switch needs to connect to and the Ultima color coding is not familiar to me. Not sure if the programming step are absolutely necessary or not either...the directions for this unit plain suck IMO!

PS - No lights on the Ignition in the Nosecone

Need to do the "clean installation" now.....route the wires, etc. Going to get a couple terminal boards and try and make it nice and tight.

Let us know what the issue was after you get out for a ride. How did the blinker/break issue work out for you? You got the badlands unit, correct?

I was not wired completely and have not worked the rear light yet. I have the 5 to 4 wire adapter to wire in.

Ok, after a lot of hours and sweat...here is the project at 98% finished.
Will probably go with another widget to get the rear lights in order as I can do everything except brake lights. Everything else seems to work great!
WP was easier but the M-Unit appears from to be a much better choice out of the gate!...

Thanks!....but to be honest it is not even close to my normal work. The wiring is a bit sloppy at this point....

Rode all day yesterday with nothing but positive results. Bike now fires up 100 times easier than before So glad that that piece of shit EHC is gone!

Nice to hear that is at least one more option to the EHC replacement and GDOG trouble shooting will be a cinch if you have any problems I can tell you right now it's the "red" wire. :roll:
