want to change to big back tire please help

Hey guys I have a 01 husky. Its has a 160 back tire and i would like to change to a 250 or better over the winter. how do i go about this?

You got lots of money? It'll cost ya a pretty penny to do it...
Your talking swing arm, rear fender, new tire and rim plus paint to start. I'm not sure if the frame will be compatable..

For the difference in money you'd be better off selling your pro sport and getting s doggie with a 250 or better. Its huge dough and you don't see it on resale. Unless you like the pro sport so much better than the dogs that have big tires I wouldn't do it.

I'd either love my PS as is or get s newer one. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Honestly, he's right. I'd sell your bike and buy what you really want. Thats what I just did. It will cost way too much to change it to a big tire when you can get something newer and better

hey man thanks for this. quick question what bike from HD is closest to the husky ? and what did the husky become when they changed the names of all the dogs one guy on here called it a pro street ?

the 01' husky is closest to a soft tail, but is the motor and trans solid or rubber mounted. best thing to find out is who made the frame. maybe rolling thunder in those years.

The most important thing you'll get in the heartland kit is the swing arm, hub, bearings and shocks, none of which will fit your bike without mods, major in some cases.

These kits are expensive when fitted to the bikes they were intended for, modifying for another bike would be very expensive.

I think the heartland kit is more than 5 grand. IMHO better to sell and get one of the many dog models with a 250 and up tire.

RSD makes a fast tire kit as well.

A Pro Street is the type of bike, not a specific model. Pro-street do not have the extended forks so much and are like yours as well as the new model such as Mastiff, Pit Bull, etc. The K-9, Rigid, CHopper are along the lines of what people call choppers with the longer extended forks, though even that name is not really correct if you go back what choppers origianl were.

You can find newere Pro-Street type with 250 (like my 05 Mastiff) or even larger. May be best to get a good used one and keep the other. Nothing wrong with two or more bikes.

That said, there is nothing wrong other than the look of a fat rear end with your Classic.

this bike is everything i want my bike to be. fat tire bad ass seat and a 18 in back wheel ! love love love it
