Smoke from carb area

I was having idle issues when the bike got hot so I tried adjusting the carb dials. I put it back to factory defaults and then ran through the procedure to adjust for the right idle and mixture. I took the bike for a spin and when I pulled back into the garage I noticed smoke coming from the carb area. It is coming from the piston vent hole on top behind the air cleaner. It looks like there might be gas dripping from it also. Any ideas what might have caused this? Thanks

There is no "piston vent hole" - you are probably referring to the head breather. That port/hole should be hooked up to the air filter housing backing or a hose to a can, or bolt on separation filters.
- what looks like gas probably isn't but is oil. If it's gas, you have a mess of other problems.

Do you have the stock air cleaner on this?
Picture?
How much "smoke"?
Color?

Thanks for the correct term, still learning about the bike.

Yes it is the stock air cleaner, I just cleaned it with the k&n filter kit.
It was not very much smoke but i have never noticed it before.
The color was white.
I will get a pick of the exact part I am talking about.

Thanks for the help!

Forgot to mention also that I just changed oil, if that makes a difference. I don't think it is overfilled.

Did the carb give a "cough" when you shut the bike off? That will give off a white color fume. Does it smell like gas? If it is a constant smoke then check hoses and fittings.

There was no "cough" when I shut the bike off. It didnt smell like gas. I will run it again today with new plugs and see if it still does it. I leave today on a ride to Duluth, mn so hopefully it just fixes itself:)

Just a quick update, the smoking has not happened since. I am not sure what caused it but I made it to Duluth and back without any major issues. Thanks again.

I’m having the same issue. What “plugs” are you referring too?
