Coming out of your seat

All,

I just ordered a pillion seat hoping it solves the problem of my ass feeling like it's coming out of the seat when I accelerate hard . Does anyone else have this issue of feeling like you're going to come off the back of the bike when you kick it? I could never do the solo seat on my last bike either for the same reason, but when I put the 2-up seat on, it was fine...it's like I need a little more seat up to my waist line. Anyone have a better solution for this?

Thanks.

Very funny, you goons. I'm 6'-4", 295 and can bench press my weight several times, so strength isn't the issue. It just sucks doing pullups when you're trying to accelerate...perhaps when I finally get around to putting on the 5" extensions it will lower and push forward my center of gravity a bit. Hell, I almost wish I had a belt strapping me to the seat it's so bad. Another issue may be that the seat is too curved on the back and my ass has a tendency to want to roll off the back. Anybody know anyone that makes a seat with a higher back?

With all due respect a pillion pad will not stop it and may fly off the back. Maybe u should consider a two up seat.. Or contact Seatmaker....

When you cut the Dog loose it's not question of how much weight you can bench press, it's a question of how many pull ups you can do that keeps your ass in the seat... :D

6'-5" 265lbs never felt like I am sliding out of the seat......you ain't putting Armorall on it ......are you? That will make it too slippery. I use mink oil and it is shiny but not slick.

checkout the pictures posted by BOWHUNTER - seat by seatmaker...page 3 of 'customizing & add-ons SEATS. Its a two-up but appears to be re-done to be more of a 'bucket' with plenty to push against.

Your arms should keep most of your weight on the bike. Im around 200 lbs and never had that problem. You weigh more than I do which should help keep you on the bike more. My guess is like 1badk9 said "are you putting something to conditon the seat making it slippery?" There is enough lip back there to keep you in the seat. A pillion is suction cupped on. Thats not going to keep you on the bike any better

There's a chance the pillion seat will fly off the bike if you don't have a passenger riding on it to hold in on as well.

PM Seatmaker and he can contour the rear seatback and cushion to give you more support.

He can also cover it in a quality material of your choice from his selections.

Bad dog, no bisquit
Make sure you use a leather conditioner, not Armorall. Did the Armoral thing once and could hardly stay on the bike.

6' 7" and 270 here. Same problem. Seat shape. And the toe under brake will work. Have Scott trim your seat. Makes a big difference.
Good luck.
