Looking for shims in sizes .005, .010, .025 for the 7/16 transmission mount bolts. I've tried Grainger and Fastenal and they do not carry 7/16 ID shims. Any help on a source or part numbers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

transmision shims

Try an electrical supply store that sells shims for electrical motors. If that doesn't work . Go to a auto parts store that sells the shims for mounting body panels etc.:flag:

Went to numerous electrical supply stores and body shops today with no luck on these size shims. Even called Baker and they wouldn't sell what they use. I'm doing a "How To" on my transmission rebuild and trying not to put the next person in the same situation that I am having. Thought about the feeler gauge idea above but the gauge is not wide enough to fully fill the mounting base under the transmission. Just trying to do it right the first time. :)

I have gotten shims for my 77 Ironhead sportster in .005 and .007 for shimming the camshafts to get the proper end play. They I.D. hole may be larger than 7/16ths. Check your local Harley shop to be sure. Good Luck.
