Thinking about it now, Lee had something similar done to his controls a few years ago but I don't think he posted much detail on it, his mechanic did the work I believe. Maybe Lee will pop in and share some pictures of his set up...

And I was just busting balls. :D

Where the hell has Lee been anyway i wonder?

Great idea with the face plates attached to the front of the controls. I think a face plate will fit real nice on them. I have been thinking about this for quite some time but i was just going to fill the holes and redrill and polish for new switches till i seen the face plate welded on, Although this would make it easy for the average do it yourselfer.

Just thinking about this idea some and it sounds good to me to start with the switches, but I think you guys are on to something big and so immediately I stepped back to look at the next bigger picture, and I think you guys should look to incorporate the switches into a complete handle bar package. Think internal throttles and clutches with bar designs to retro fit the dogs. Make them in all colors and chrome. I know theres systems out there like the SAS, etc, but I bet you guys can do more and better. It's a big project with lots of work and potentially tough to make things work considering the price point but I would be interested in buying something if the look was right.

Before I worked with wire-plus on their prototype unit, I had ordered a chassis control module from them.

I had posted all of what I was going to do on the forum here, and the main plan was to weld the holes in solid on the factory BDM faceplates, stick them in the mill and clean up the front and back, and repolish them out.

That was going to give me nice clean solid panels to mount 3 momentary stainless touch switches in to control the chassis module.
headlight H/L, horn, L-turn.........R-turn, run/stop, start

Wire-plus called me back 2 days after buying all the shit and asked me to send it all back and run their prototype BDM module...it was all history from there.

I think it will fly boys, we are it appears all simple souls and as such the old KISS principal comes into play.
If you keep it simple and easy for the average do-it-yourselfer the price will be irrelevent.
I know that Dead Dog and i would be onto it as we both have issues with our switch blocks.
I have a brand new one R/H that doesn't work at all.
If anyone has a couple of R/H control panels please pm me or Dave and we will take them off your hands.

Other than that i for one can't wait to see the out come, sounds awsome.

I just want to inform you that Arlen Ness had some high quality chrome handlebar controls with small chrome pushbuttons. I am not sure if they still sell them but they were great. I had the opportunity to use them every year I went to California to visit my brother.

The biggest issue we seem to be having is finding a quality button that is low profile. We could easily throw together some big pile to throw on but we don't want that. We are working on a button solution in house that will use low cost parts but still provide a quality device that has a really clean look to it.

Curtis, how will the right hand control brake light switch be integrated into these?

hell, I would go for just a simple plug and play exchange of the black button covers for chrome.

I would love to get rid of those big, ugly buttons.Plus, you say you're going to start doing exhausts?I've seen so many interested in the late-Stainless Creations' "Chaos pipes. It'd be cool to see another version of these...not necessarily stainless though! They had one of the best looking pipes available.Good luck with everything!
