front brake is limp??

Just got the pushrods carb and belt adjusted and all was great, was out riding and the front brake stoped working ,the lever is just loose . I put fluid in a couple months ago and just checked it again and all is fine .

Agreed. Check to make sure all connections caliper side are tight, then bleed.

now that you mention it , I did have to pump up the brakes a while back so I will give that a shot and thanks for the advise and I imagine thats all it is , thats great.

If the cable broke you would have brake fluid everywhere. Just sounds like you need to bleed the brake

I bled them by taking the top off of the reservoir and opened the bleeder and pumped the lever a few times and then closed the bleeder and put the reswervoir back together and didnt get much out of it so did the samething with the cover on and then rechecked the fluid level and the brake lever is back to where its suppose to be and just not completely loose like it was , I still have no brake any tips on bleeding it properly?

Continue your first step several times eventually adding more fluid until it firms up.

A mityvac kit from Harbor Freight makes the job a lot easier. Hook it up, pump up a vacuum and open the bleed valve. Do this until you see no more air, add fluid and your done.

I am pretty sure you need to close the bleeder screw while the handle is pulled in. It will draw air back in when you release it.

Exactly. 2 people is pretty much required. Have them pump the brake a few times, crack the bleeder until juice is coming out, then close the bleeder while they still have handle down. Repeat this until it gets firm making sure your keep reservoir topped off. Another way that I found it to take the reservoir cap off and pull the brake lever in and strap it down with a zip tie. Keep the lever depressed over night. Every so often go out and tap on the brake line. Air should rise out the brake cylinder. Keep it open over night. Bleed with bleed screw a couple times after to make sure you got it all.

I use a oil can.Hook a clear hose to the oil can and to the bleeder.fill can and squirt it back up through the master.I agree with the bro that said you might need a master kit.Why else would you need to bleed your brakes if it hasn't run out of fluid or been worked on.Also take a look at your brake pads if they get worn down the fluid level drops.Just sayn something to think about...

If the Lever went limp, I would recommend you get a Master cylinder rebuild kit first. While you are at it replace your pads, rebuild your front caliper and buy the Speed Bleeders. They are great for doing the job by yourself. All of the above is based on how important front brakes are to you. If you want just a band aid keep on bleeding and don't forget to bleed them before you go out again cause it is not going to last unless you replace worn parts. Just saying

Im probably doing something wrong but I tried bleeding them over and over again , took the cover off the reservoir and loosened the bleeder and pumped the brake lever till fluid came out and while holding the lever in , I tightened the nut , no results so I tried this again several times and there was no to very lil fluid coming out , all the while making sure there was fluid in the reservoir ????

I am doing what Kdub suggested letting it sit till tomorrow after work with the cover off and the handle all the way in,keepin my fingers crossed.

I thought tryin to bleed them first before buying a rebuild kit was a good idea if the problem continues then sure rebuild it but for now Im gonna ride it anyway but would be nice to have my fron t brakes again,lol

PS I was changing and checking the fluids when I bought the bike and the front brake was very low on fluid so I added and you could feel the difference in the lever but there were times when the lever was stiffer than others?
