Here are a couple of pics I took tonight not very good shots but that is the best I can do for right now.
Wow that thing is a lot bigger than I thought I would be. Housing looks about 3 to 3.5" long?

Dakota Digital just needs to install a the volt meter in the speedo so you could cycle through it similiar to using the trip button. Then maybe have a warning if it ever drops below 12v it defaults back to the volt screen and flashes

This is an excellent idea!
Perhaps our own Mad Dog could inquire Dakota to incorporate this and I bet more ppl would pick up the Dakata Digital

I will call Dakota and suggest this as it would be a great add to an already great speedometer. To redesign the speedometer would not happen soon though I would think. I'll let you know what they say. Also I will be calling Signal Dynamics to look into a group buy there as well.

:eek:Not sure if it is due to the camera angle/position but it does look rather large....the volt meter that is :D

Update

Called Dakota and the guy I need to talk to will be back Monday.

Signal Dynamics sent me a dealer app. and it looks like I can offer them for the same price with the only difference being my shipping is cheaper. Looks like a really nice system and the indicator can be located just about anywhere. They use UPS and average between $7-$12 depending on the shipping location. I charge $5.95 flat rate any size order. So the only question would be how many should I order. If you would like one please indicate here. I should be able to place the order at the begining of the week.
Thanks!:2thumbs:

I'm down for one. I'd recommend starting a new thread for the group buy... Keeps things better organized for all of us along with informing other members, who may not be following this thread, that a group buy is going on.

I take cash money for ideas

It would be a cool feature and I can't imagine it would require much tweaking to the current electronics in the speedo. I prefer my old style needle speedo but the digital is cool, and would be a lot better with that function built in.

I knew someone was going to comment on my wording.....:job:

I have the duel digital and analog display on mine (2011 K9) LOW BATT digital is on it. If the RPM is greater than 800 and the battery voltage drops below a preset level (12.4 V) for 30 seconds or longer, “LOW BATT” flashes on the digital display. If the RPM is less than 800 and the battery voltage drops below 12.1 V for 30 seconds or longer “LOW BATT” flashes on the digital display. When the battery reaches 12.7 V the display stops flashing and resets to previous screen. :flag::flag::flag::flag:

:2thumbs:Fantastic Idea.

I now believe that knowing the voltage at all times is a must for me. But, it has to blend in with the bike like it's not there. So, I like Tim's idea of a light like signaldynamics offers but would rather get a Dakota Digital. I always struggle with where to put an accessory and ultimately end up ditching it later if it bothers me (i.e. installed and forget it is there except when I need to find it and see it).:loony:

Carlos - yours look pretty good. Where are the wires? Did you drill the handlebar?

Very useful - does it also warn in overcharging situations?

It is integrated into the digital side of the speedo. The service manual says nothing about warning in overcharging situations ?
