Don't know much about this particular item but beware. My 06 K9 has the same so called "sealed" unit and it still leaked oil in to the starter internals. It did not stop until I made the mod to the starter case to allow oil to flow directly back in to the primary.

I took my starter apart cuz it wuz leaking and found that the bearings were bad and the seal at the end had a small nick in it, I have done the mod and have cleaned the vent that it why I went with this. also for what it costs to get new bearings, seal, and have them pressed off and on its worth it. just thought I would put it up if someone didnt want to replace their whole starter cuz a stupid seal was leaking!!!

I keep reading about the starter mod but, I can't find any information. Would somebody care to show me where to notch the starter or whatever needs to be done ?
