He actually called me the other day. Said he doesn't want to burn any bridges ...already done that. He explained how the owner of the bike has screwed him out of labor and money. He says he'll pay me out of his pocket in another week. So we'll see what happens.
Took a month with no communication to come up with that?

has the theif been back on the site here? I remember Bubble head saying something about catching him logging on but staying very quiet in the back ground.

Might I suggest we stop beating the guy up until after Ed gets paid?

A year ago this member (Boydog) borrowed a compression socket from one of the forum members. It was about 2 months before it was returned (but it was returned).

At the time I was on facebook and Boydog was also on it. We were facebook friends at the time (because of a mutual friend) so I wrote him (on facebook) that the member was wanting the socket back and was having trouble getting hold of him.

Here's a copy of what I sent to him as a private message on facebook:

"Hey brother, Just thought you might want to know that the (member that loaned the socket on the Bigdogbiker forum) would like you to contact him. Apparently he let you use a compression socket and needs it back. Just wanted to let you know since you are not on that forum much these days and wanted to help you not get any bad rep there. Oh and sorry about losing your dog (hard to lose a good friend)."

(On that day on his facebook page he had posted that his dog and good friend (a 12 yr old husky) had died (thus my reference to that).

The socket was returned about the same time that I wrote to Boydog on Facebook.

Strange that not even a thankyou to me or the lender here.

But maybe he will do the right thing and honor his agreement with Ed.

Reasons like this is why you keep your friends, and your business separate. I understand people need help, and I will help anyone, but there is a big difference helping someone in need and helping someone with something they don't need. If you have a flat and have no money, I'll pay to have your flat fixed I may even by you a tire. If you pay me back that's great, if not I won't be to upset. If you have something you really don't need, ie a custom paint job, you better have the money.

That's just my dos centavos.

Hi guys. I wish I could say this has been resolved, but it has not. When he did last communicate with me, I put the legal stuff and late pay fees on hold. As an act of good faith. Because he said he could get me paid "in a week or two". I have since texted him stating that it has been a month since he talked to me, and the process of legal collection will resume. With all late fees and legal fees included. He is now over 90 late in paying for my services. I'd say that constitutes a theft, what do you guys think?
I also informed him I have forwarded all my text communications to my lawyer. And that my lawyer says that he can subpoena my cell records on the dates (that I provided) of our conversation, of Cassius promising to pay me electronicly the following Tuesday. So proof of this agreement will not be an issue at all.
Still no response... I'll see my lawyer this weekend.

Haven't read all the threads so don't know what's been stated, but it would be nice to have this guy set up some kind of payment plan to get you paid back with a reasonable amount of interest, late fees, etc. added on to the bill. If he's a man, he'll make it happen some how, some way, even if it means selling his bike to do it. With this economy it's tough out there for a lot of people. This guy's situation we're not privy to, but it seems like he may have gotten into financial trouble subsequent to having you start the job. Regardless, the dude needs to buck up and compensate you some way. Regarding the whole "thief" thing, he's only a thief if he intentionally planned on doing this to you, in the same way that a homeowner who defaults on his mortgage is not a thief if he doesn't pay his mortgage. It's a damn shame a lawyer needs to be involved as this will only delay the whole process and cost everyone MORE money. Completely understand your frustration as I've had the same thing happen to me with clients I do work for. I just called them on a daily basis and let them know they owed me - soon they got sick of hearing from me and paid me back, some in a lump sum, some with a payment plan.
Best of luck, sir, your work is impressive indeed. Keep up the good fight.
