Looks good. FYI, good Idea to put some Loc-Tite on the caps or somthing else. I lost one or two going down the road! :cheers:

Now take a line and run it to the stash tube as a second cooler.
Make it functional, and it will add more cooling, along with additional oil.
Worked for me, and out here in Vegas I ride all summer in 100+ degree heat so I need all the cooling I can get.:2thumbs:

I really like the look of it, and with the spike caps its bad ass!

Does anyone know functionally how well they work? Anyone see issues with riding in cooler weather and the oil temp below 180? I think S&S says 180-230 is proper temp.

I had a long talk with S&S about these exact tubes. The Techno nerd said, " in the summer it should keep the oil 170-200* depending on if I'm in the city, heavy traffic, or on the open road. During the winter, he said bikes up north where the winter days are much colder, 28*-35* have a hard time getting oil tempatures into the 120* range with out oil coolers while in the south a average winter temp of 55* would allow the oil to get in the 160*-200* range. He finished saying, "It depends where you ride and when you ride. The oilcooler adds 2/3 of a quart more with 10*-15* cooler tempatures. as for last summer having 110*-115* outdoor tempatures, yes a cooler would help. But honestly when the tempature is that hot who really is going to ride!

I have an oil cooler cover for cold weather riding. Like 10-15 bucks from drag specialties

Looks good Jonathan. I put one on my Pitbull a couple months ago - saw about a 5 degree drop in oil temps when running at highway speeds and typical AZ temps (100 degrees). Not tremendous drop in operating temps, but I'll take it.

I am drinking an Ultra right now!:D

I looked at my S&S manual and it said to keep the oil temperatures between 180 and 250. But, 180 to 230 sounds more appropriate. I barely get to 210 when riding in either Texas or Louisiana on Hot Days. I can barely get to 180 in the off season.

Nice additions, Jonathan. Looking at doing the same. Would definitely come in handy here in S. Tx.

Hey Rob, do you have a pic of that set up?
