As some of you know I am selling by 2005 ridgeback. This is the very shortest version so bear with me. Guy came friday night looked at my bike. Came back today and said he wanted it but wanted to take down road first. No problem, I wouldn't buy a bike without riding it either. 5 minutes later he calls and has wrecked. So I have several questions. The frame is severly rashed, tank destroyed, headlight, all blinkers are bent, back tire is flat, and all forks, primary, wheels are rashed. So my question, with big dog out of business is this stuff replaceable(tank)? If my insurance covers(or whos ever) will they pay to replace everything scuffed or re-chrome or what? Also it won't go into neutral? Prolly lot more I'm still rattled. He is in hospital so I don't know what his plans are. I filed police report and called insurance and they said an agent will call me in morning. After he wrecks he informs me he has no license. Any comments, suggestions, or anybody know how this is gonna end up? Thanks I be out for bit and check back in

Well when and if I ever sell mine....no one will ride it. I will ride it and they can follow and see for themselves that it is what it is. To bad on your bad deal.

I think forks are twisted too. Can you even buy forks for big dog?

I'm sure you could get all the parts you need to fix the bike. Maybe the ins co. will total it and then you don't have to worry about fixing it.
The whole deal sucks though.

Forks are easily available. Tanks are regularly on sale on eBay and a lot of that stuff Shovelheadkicker has.

Hope the insurance company takes care of you

Wow.... your just an innocent victim and now have all this shit to deal with ....OEM-BDM parts will be hard to come by...fork tubes are pretty standard... should be able to pick them up at various shops.

From the looks of your pics looks like i did better than u. Best case is they total it and i buy it back cheap and fix up. Worse case i fix up out my pocket

Ok heres the real deal Insurance should cover you as it had full coverage,thers a little known clause in the law that us car dealers use called theft by disception as i once let someone test drive a car and the stole it but recovered it 30 minutes later,but Ive bought and sold a ton of bikes without letting the buyer test ride as unless cash is in my hand what happened to you is going to be my luck as well.but look at the bright side if its totalled and your covered you will get full retail book value and sales tax less your deductable.I would buy it back fix it as all the parts are cheep and resell it there is nothing not available for your bike but if you let it go to insurance company pull as much off the bike as you can.

I already took off my seat. I have full coverage. Only bad thing is i was asking 12,500 and got 500 dollar deductible. Think it only books for 12,100

Forks are still available from BDM performance products as of last fall. I replaced mine then. They were around a G note. Only aftermarket forks I found did not have fender mounts. Springer time!!

Sorry to hear what happened. how bad is the guy busted up?

Lessons learned in the past by me "never ever let anyone ride your bike". It took me twice before I said don't even ask me. The answer will be no f**king way..... I didn't ride my Harley before I bought it..and did not ride this one before I layed out the cash...
