Hey Guys,

Just bought an 05' Chopper with a 117" motor, stock with SuperTrapp pipes. Bought the bike in Salt Lake City. I have been riding it around and notice a tremendous amount of black smoke coming out of exhaust. Obviously, its runnin too rich. As a general starting point, what intermediate and main jet should I start at? Thanks,

I believe the stockers came with a 29.5 intermidiate and 72 main jet. When I picked up my 2006 Mastiff I had re quested they change the exhaust to the V&H Big Radius and they rejetted mine to a 74. Could be wrong, and it's been awhile but sounds about right.

Carlos is real close. The 05's came stock with 28 int and 72 main. Also they had restrictor plates in the manifold. If you were to buy the Mean Mothers pipe kit it would have came with a 31/74 combo.
The 05's also came with the smaller E carbs and the G was another upgrade.
I would first determine if you still have the E carb and if the restrictor plates are still in it then we would be able to help you better.

I'm still running an E carb on mine and I have a 29.5/74 combo in it and the restrictor plates have been removed.

Lots of threads on the 05's here and the restrictor plates.

Welcome to the site too :D

Could be accelerator pump set to high. Does the black smoke come out when you crack the throttle?
