Is the Battery Tender Plus that much better than the JR. About a 20 dollar difference at the store.

Which do you have and your opinion...

I suppose everyone will rant and rave about the battery tender plus & Jr but I dont really see any benefit. I think the Plus will do a full on charge @ 1.5 Amps and then go to float mode, Jr can only do a full charge at .75 amps and move to float mode. In most cases unless you are using it to charge up boat batteries over night or something then a jr should fine.

FYI - I bought mine from Walmart for a $20 spot and it works fine!

I have the Jr. and use it every day. As soon as I get back from a ride, i let the bike cool down and then plug it in. It always goes to float mode within a matter of minutes. From what I understand the bigger Battery Tender Plus would charge a dead battery quicker than a Jr, but if all your wanting to do is maintain the battery then the Jr works great for that.

You stole my thunder, I was gonna mention this. I have owned numerous battery tenders over the years and this one is just as good if not better than anyone I have ever owned. I was having trouble with mine when a friend suggested this one from Wal Mart. I bought it and have not had one bit of trouble with my battery since.

Unless your bike sits alot you dont even need one

I'm a weekend rider and sometimes every other weekend. I never had any issues with it but now with the Dakota speedo, if it sits too long the battery gets low.

I just ordered BatteryMinders. They now make me order 24 to get dealer price. As like last year I really don't want to sit on all of these till next fall so in the next day or so I will offer 12 up at a super low price. I'll start a new thread and post a link for anyone interested.
Thanks:2thumbs:

Mad Dog,

Are they the Battery Minder Plus models. The one I purchased from you last year actually brought a battery back to life.:D

I had been purchasing Wal-Mart Tenders for a while and still have one. It works well. I do like my Battery Tender Plus. I also have a couple of Genius Tenders and I noticed just recently that the Voltage will drop back down to approximately 12.9 when good and charged which I like because I did have a tender from Wal-Mart boil a battery and it may have been defective. I tossed it. I am going to check the Battery Tender Plus performance since I accidently discovered this nice to know performance of my Genius. I did have a Genius act weird on me and the factory sent me a new one free.

I'm in for a BatteryMinder if the price is right. I would rather help a vender than support big business.

I had five of the Schumacher battery tenders on my stuff and two the schumachers quit working after several months. One was on the dog and the other on my riding lawnmower. Replaced the one on the lawnmower with one from harbor frieght ($9.00) and the other one I bought was the battery tender jr for the dog. Both have worked great for the last couple of years. The other 3 Shumachers are still working though. If I need another one I'll try the battery minders from Don.

I have all three, tender, plus and JR, the old Tenders are at least 15 years old and I'm not going to brag about how great they are but I have them on every battery in bikes, jeep, tractor, and mowers and none of them owe me a cent. They are worth every cent I paid for them and I'm sure have even made me $$$.

Yes Huw it is the Plus model and a friend of mine brought a deep cycle marine battery with a dead cell back to life not too long ago.
So I now know 2 people that can verify the pulse technology works.
I have them listed at this link.
