Looking forward to retirement
In 2005, I purchased a used 1998 Fleetwood Bounder Class A motorhome for $21,000.00 it was in great shape but had 50K miles and had a 454 Vortex engine. I have decided to sell it and my friend who ownes the local RV dealership went over the numbers with me. It is still in great shape, I traded another friend who does body work for a wet sanding, compounding & wax job on the RV, for one of the kids old dirt bikes they have out grown. The inside is in really good conditions. I have put 22k miles on it. Now, remember this is a lisc vehicle so it goes by NADA Kelly Blue Book for auto loans. The number I can get it looks like is $7800.00. That's a loss of $13,200.00 in 78 months = a loss of $169.23 per month depreciation. CRAP, talk about something NOT holding any retail value at all!!!!!!!! :bang: But better to cut my losses now. Insurance renewal is in 60 days and that will be another $850.00 per yr. Scarey thing is The guy who purchased the unit new in 1999 paid $65,000.00 (he gave me ALL the paperwork even the original sales invoice) and I paid him $21,000.00 he lost $ 44,000.00 in 84 months = $523.80 per month in depreciation.
