I was having all the fluids in the K-9 changed at a local shop because I don't have a lift yet and the reality is I was too damn lazy to do it. Anyways, it's a small Custom Bike shop owned by husband, wife, son and a pretty hot daughter. All real good people. I am OCD about every little thing on my scoot. I ride it home from the shop and all is good. Park it in the garage and notice a small bit of oil on the garage floor this morning. From what I can tell it's probably from the primary drain plug. Go back to the guys shop and ask him about the leak and the possibility of it being the drain plug. He says he only took off the inspection cover and did not take off the drain plug. I look at him like "HUH". He said he evacked the oil out of the primary case kind of like using a vacuum pump.

I know I'm new do this bike stuff, but is that the normal way of doing a drain and fill on the primary fluid?

No that's not the normal way to drain the primary. We drain it via the plug and inspect the magnetic plug for metal fragments.

Right. If you don't pull the plug, you can't do a proper inspection for problems. A vacuum pump will work and be faster, but it ain't a full job (per the manuals).

Just back the drain plug off a full turn, and re-tighten it. Post pictures of the hot daughter.

You should really post the pictures of the hot daughter to make sure it is acceptable to take your bike there for maintenance. We just want to make sure you are doing the right thing for your Dog.:D

My primary drain plug is stripped thanks to the genius' at Strokers Dallas. So now I have to use a vacuum to drain it.

Oh yea that would be acceptable, difintely something that most would want to plug someway or another!

On the service, it easy to do yourself, jsut get a low drain pan, remove the drain plug, then I would pull the outer cover off, check the chain tension, clean her up a little bit, make sure things are right, then install new o-rings, add 32 oz of your favorite Primary lube, tighten to specs (I use a bad of blue Loctite BTW), go ride.

Less than hour if you push it, more if you BS and drink a cold one. Total cost about $30 if you buy new or-rings (less if you re-use-though I do not recommend myself). Suggest a good precise inch torque wrench and tightern in steps and sequence.
