At the boat show today Big Bear had a dozen bikes on display...sat on and stood the Athena up...damn that's a sweet ride.

Anyone rode one of these sleds? Fully dressed w/the X-wedge for $35K.

I haven't but that grey bike is hot!! Big bear is definitely Big Dogs biggest competitor now. I would consider that bike next.

I love the big bear stuff... I wouldn't mind starting there on my first bottom up build..

I haven't rode one yet... plan on it in May at an open house. But sat on them last time I was at the dealership.

I think the Big Bear pro street bikes are too long. I've seen a couple in person and it seems that you are stretched out too far on them.

I always thought my 2nd bike would be another Big Dog. But I've been checking out Big Bear, Saxon, Michael D, and Exile bikes.

Big Bear and Saxon seem a lot like Big Dog Bikes. But Michael D's and Exile (Russell Mitchell) are different.

Michael D is doing some super fat bikes I like with a good price. 360 rear, springer front end, open primary for the price of a stock Big Dog. It would cost me 50K to make a Ridgeback with those upgrades.

Exile bikes are very minimalistic and expensive, but clean lines and nice old school look.

Ballistic cycles and Martin Brothers are nice bikes, but starting at 100k is too much $$$$$.

Totally agree. All the bikes are very long. Great if you like going straight. Look good but not as ridable as BDM. :zz2cents:

You can get Martin Brothers "Blue Balls" from my dealer for 50K. Scrool down just a bit.

I have riden several models due to the fact that I help the dealer at shows:D They ride very well but are little lacking on the power due to the 100 cu in California EPA engine. There 100 engine also has taller cylinders to reduce compression. Bikes are very easy to ride and turn easy even at slow speeds. Most of the bikes run better just with a exhuast change out. Sales have been brisk on the bikes and kits even with price tag thats on them. Its Call backs and problems are few. The engine is completely built by S&S and Big Bear installs the E carb.

Over and out V

Watch out, Gas Man - there's that SMILE! How long do you really think she's gonna be satisfied with that Sporty, now that she's seeing the more expensive alternatives? :D :D :D

I think she'd look great cruising alongside the Phoenix on her own Big Bear Miss Behavin'. :whoop:

I saw one of those in Long Beach, and it was SWEET! Great ride for the ladies.

I've posted several pics of my brothers Merc he is building. We picked it up personally from BBC. They are great people and Mona took great care of my little one when we were there. My brother had them build him a 300 RSD Merc that is and alteration from there kit (it comes with 250 LSD) so there were some problems with spacing and axle length that they took care off.
Great company to deal with. All your servicing will come from any Custom Chrome dealer.

Muggs must have someother personal problems with them he isn't sharing!

Later,
Ray

Not if he would only finish the kit!!!!
