When I turn my ignition key on, the starter engages, the horn blares, high beams come on, turns signals light and stay lit. This has also happened once while riding. Any Ideas?

Have you washed or been caught in rain lately? It's possible that you have moisture in your hand controls or possibly in your EHC. You say it happened once before. Was there any chance that your bike got wet then also? If you haven't already, put dielectric grease in your EHC connection to keep moisture out. I've heard of most all your symptoms except for the starter engaging when you turn the key on. That's why I'm thinking your shorting in your hand grips.

no, haven't washed it and wasn't caught in the rain. It's so strange. Twice it happened when I was starting it and once I was on the riding. I went out today and held the left turn signal while turning the key and all was fine. I'm just affraid to ride because last time when I was on the road and it happened it destroyed my starter and ring gear. A guy at Carl's said it was my EHC but it comes and goes. Should any lights be lit on the EHC while my bike is running? Because they're not.

Do you not have any lights shining on your EHC? It's been a while since I've had an EHC, but I think you should have at least one or two lit up. When the "run" button is pressed, it should light up one of the lights on the EHC if I'm not mistaken. Also, when the bike is running, another light should be on. I'll see if I can find the schematic.

Did you ever find out what caused your problem? Just bought an '05 Chopper and had this happen to me this evening. Was working fine until trying to leave a local watering hole and when I turned on the key everything came on including the starter as you described.

Pull your harness connectors at the EHC. Any issues clean them, coat with dielectric grease and reconnect.
If the issue continues then, generally, this is a pretty good indicator that your EHC is on its last leg. Its not likely to get better.

Make sure all batt terminals are clean and tight, including the crimp portions on all wires. The batt needs to be 12.8 volts minimum at rest off charger for an hour or more.
