To Wash Or Not
Most of us are aware of the perils associated with water and the electrical components on our Big Dogs. Using a pressure wash for two hours, wow mastiffdave, you are far bolder than I am my friend. I too at one time long ago pressure washed my K-9, but NO MORE! Spending my time drying handlebar micro-switches isn`t on my list of favorite things to do in lieu of riding. The other thing about using a quarter car wash is the soaps that many of them use are loaded with phosphates. These phosphates foam well and attach to particles allowing a hands free wash, but they also attack wax and silicone. IMHO I will be using detailer or a dampened wash cloth with the mildest soap at hand.

I will spray it on hard to clean areas on my Triumphs but don't let it sit too long. Also, don't let it get on leather because it will leave spots. I have a gallon of S100 in the garage and have had it for several years so I don't use it much.

I know ,I know just didnt want to go home and just about washed the paint off the bike , I hand cleaned everything again the next day and waxed. Tapio as we talked in PCB if you get ready to yank that wire plus and hard wire Ill bring mine down and well do two at same time.
I really need to wash my bike as dry washing just is not going to cut it anymore. I am thinking about just using the S-100 on the engine area and just soap and water everywhere else. I have just heard some S-100 horror stories that just make me hesitant to use it as opposed to just using a normal degreaser on the engine area...

David, IF the WP quits on me, then… As long it’s working, no problem.
I’m heading back to Finland next week, my riding season here is pretty much over. I Do feel rather sad about it…
Do you ship your bike back and forth?

Eric, No, I have a Fatboy in Finland… Also I try to spend a lot of time in our summerhouse, witch is on an island -no roads there, I use my boat for transportation...

Though I did hear, it would be like 800 to ship the bike Miami - Finland. Not bad, but I would worry my self sick thinking my Dog on container… Maybe I’ll do it some day.

Soap and water will clean anything off a bike besides grease and oils,which simple green does that trick.....all that other stuff everyone buys is just a waste of money.......I have washed my bike with soap and water from the day I got it,since my speedo dont work,I no longer care about it foggin up so I dont even bag that anymore........I will polish my rims and some other things,but I am just not one to buy into the next latest and greatest thing to make stuff shine....
