I still need to mount the sissy bar to the rear fender and snap a shot. I'll try to do that Thursday.

I'll be posting pics tonight of my new Sissy Bar from Choppin Steel.:whoop: I have some pics, but I don't want to put them up until I run over to the dealer to do a test fit and take some pictures of it on the bike.

It is still raw steel, so the Chromed pics won't come for another two weeks after i get it back from Brown's Plating.

Give ma a couple hours to post! :2thumbs:

Eric did a great job on this bar, it turned out awesome. Little different than my original drawing, but in a good way to keep it a little shorter. I went with this design to tie it with the spiked goods I am selling (center section) and the outer sides tie the flame design to the paint. I originally wanted to have it powder coated to match the paint, but Eric does such a fine job of finish work on the steel, I have to have it chromed.

Here is a link to his other work:

Keep in mind, this is leaving for Brown's Plating the first of the week to get the shiney stuff put to it and then I'll post better pics!!!:2thumbs:

Here was my original drawing of this design:

That is awesome Jake! looks killer in the bike.

Since R&B cyles said they could help with chroming, has anyone thought of giving them a try?

Jake....the sissy bar looks awesome. :whoop: Now that your bar is complete, Eric should be starting on mine. Can't wait! I'm having Eric incorporate my BDM sissy bar pad so I can please the wife when she wants to ride. Post pics of the chromed bar when you get it.

Nice work Eric!:2thumbs:

Thanks! I am going to have my cousin make a new mounting plate for the BDM sissybar pad that will fit my bar and send it out for chrome later. I have to wait and see. I wanted my bar laid back a few degrees more that the stock bar from BDM so it looks a little more custom and match the lines of the Ridged better. I don't know if the bar will be functional laid back.

Gee that should look sweet!!! :2thumbs:
G-man...I've learned alot from your post regarding the Phoenix...I owe you a  someday. I'm still struggling between the tribal triple trees and the springer front end. American Springer says they've fixed the caliper issue and everyone I've talked too other than Skully loves their Dragon springer. I can get the entire Dragon package for less than $3K. Just can't make up my mind. :bang: :job:  May save if for next winter's project.

The biggest thing is go with the old style caliper stay. And consider replacing all the bolts that you get...

What did they say the fix was? And when I talked to them there was nothing wrong with there design so why fix it?. Anyway do yourself a favor and replace the original hardware if you get one.

Alhall88-after re-reading their response, it may not be a fix at all. How old was your front end? I REALLY like the Dragon but I'm struggling because of your experience. I may put this off until next winter and spend the summer investigating other options and the Dragon. Did the springer change the riding characteristics of your bike?

"Never had faulty caliper hardware, they had a different caliper mounting system about 3 years ago. Now the caliper and caliper bracket are 1 piece...very nice set up"

Thanks for all the info...
