Hi All,

Bought a 2000 Husky and it has extended forward controls but all the pegs and levers are the factory installed, the previous owner is still looking for the take off parts but I'm thinking He's not going to find the parts. I'm looking for the attach plates that all the hardware is attached that someone takes off when upgrading to extended forward controls.

After looking at many photos I'm pretty sure any BDM made prior to 2003 has the same controls (Pitbull, Boxer, Mastiff, Prosport and Husky). If anyone has what I might need please let me know, Or if I have to maybe consider to swap parts necessary for someone who would like to have extended controls??

See photo below of the brake lever side of the Husky.

Wow, I was kinda thinking this would be simple to either find some take-offs or trade, i know they look bad in the photo but this bike has yet to go thru Dan O polish treatment!! I pick the bike up tomorrow so the cleaning will begin!

Get Wizards polish, grab some beers, turn on stereo, pull up a seat and start polishing. Nothing like black hands and a day gone.

Got the bike home last night before the snow hit:D The previous owner only found the stock left side so my only hope is to get a new right side (brake lever) or trade with someone who needs extended forward controls, i think they are only about 2 inches extended.

I know the photos look bad but I will polish the controls and post another photo. This bike has not had any polish since the previous owner bought the bike, not sure he even washed it!! only 300 miles in 3 years!!

Nelson,

Please let me know if you can get the right side standard control, plate that the brake reservoir and brake lever attaches. New or used if taken off another bike.

When you stop at a light, do you just fall over? Ok, I let it out and now I will stop. I owe you a beer. Make sure you have ID.

Ok,

After looking at a million photos of forward controls I realize I have 2" extended Thunderheart forward controls, I suspect the person before me purchased the kit with only brackets that install on the frame and you use your old levers and brake reservoir.

Still hoping someone with 03 and older wants 2" extended and would give me their standard ones????? I really only need the right side so its a two for one trade

Also learned the part number is BDM160-00258, Nelson can you help with that to get a price??

Danosrs, got a pic of you in the riding position on the bike? That would bring this thread to life and we might have more ideas for ya.

I ordered my extentions from Thunderheart Controls out of TN last year. They were very helpful and both plates polished were less then 75.00. Might try them to see if they have the standard plates. I will see if I have the contacat name and number to pass on.

Danosrs,
Lost all my saved data when my computer crashed. Might have the contact name at work and can check Monday. Here is the link I followed when trying to get the extentions Thunder Heart/Contact Us

Service was outstanding. They sent the drawings and even added in new bolts and thread loc with no extra charge.

Salty Dowg,

Thanks for the Info, Ive got an email to Thunderheart now for a price if possible for just one side. What did you do with your originals, Want to sell them?? I think they are the same for 03 and older.

I'm pretty sure any Harley after market fwd controls will work if you can't find the plates you need.

Ok, finally got Thunderheart on the phone and they are sending me the standard brake side mounting plate so I no longer need to purchase or trade with anyone.

Will consider to sell the 1.5 inch extended plates if anyone is interested. I will have them removed by the end of the week (i hope) and can send photos.
