When I bought my '08 K-9 back in May 2008 the dealer didn't have the lugguage rack in stock, problem was I had two trips in the next 2 or 3 weeks I was using the Dog for. It didn't come in on time and I ended up going to Lowes and getting some PVC pipe, hose clamps and some clear tubing and making my own. Worked like a charm -- looked a little silly but when I took the lugguage off I took of the rack as well. Only took 45 minutes to make and it went on/off real easily.
If your in a real pinch I can give you instructions on how to do it in a hurry!

Contact BigDogPartsKing directly and see if he has one available, he's the newest forum advertiser and I'm working with him for new electrical side covers.

I just bought a luggage rack yesterday. I have been needing one for a while but just never got around to buying it. If you are riding alone, just put the pillion pad on the bike and turn the bag around on the sissy bar so it sits on the pillion pad instead of the rear fender. That's what I have always done and it works great. It also makes a nice back rest for rides on the interstate.

This is the best way if you're solo. I had mine on my rack when I did my first long ride and quickly turned it around. Honestly I don't think I've used my rack since...I'm just afraid to part with it as I don't know if I'll ever be able to get another. Wrap one of those cheap gel lubar support things you get for a car seat around your tbag and you'll be comfy as hell all day. I got one at walmart for like 15 bucks.

I'm going to be 2 up with the wife. Sure you don't want to part with it? Bigdogkingpin will have a bunch finished in 2 months. They already started production on them. Just out of my time frame.:2thumbs:

Damn.....Hopefully you used a good pvc pipe cement. I'd reccommend the blue stuff called "Christy's Red Hot Blue Glue" Always a good strong dependable joint in a quick minute.
