Single cylinder Dog?

2002 pitbull. anything over half throttle and it only has fire off one cylinder when riding.Doesnt do it in neatural when parked. Cam sensor checked out ok? What gives??Changed plugs and rebuilt carb too.Please help.

could be coil or loose wire. maybe even plug wires.

ok ill try plug wires but why would they fire at idle in neautral but not when driving?
Also is their an HD part # that will fit?

Assuming you're correct when you say only one cylinder is firing and you still have the stock dual fire ignition, that only leaves the coil since you've already replaced the spark plug wires.

I would say coil... once you put it under a load it stresses the coil enuf and it cuts out not sure if they are the same coil as my 07 mastiff but if it is I have one that was givin to me by a member that I didnt use so you are welcome to it if ya need!!

one thought pull your plug wire and put a spark plug tester on it and rev it up if it cuts out........

The '02 is dual fire while the "07 is single fire... definitely NOT the same coil.

I just had this same problem on my 2000 wolf. I think it's the same ingition setup, but I'm no expert. Mine was a connection problem on the back of the coil pack. Try taking the wires off the back, cleaning the. and make sure wires and connections are good. I had to replace one of the crimped eyelets on mine, fixed the problem. Hope yours is as easy as mine was.

The first mech i took it to tried a coil he had at his shop and said it wouldnt even start unless he only plugged up 1 plug wire. Is that what would happen if he tried a single fire instead of a dual.

What do the plugs on your ingnition module look like one plug two the other three? Or one three the other four ? Do you have a known good module that you could swap for a test? Your positive your battery is good? Load tested and all? If you have the bike on a jack (rear tire off the ground) and throttle up does it do it or just while in motion?

now it does in neatral as well. the module tested ok with the tester but i may try a crane hi 4 module next.I just hate to start throwing expensive parts at it.

also the plugs look normal and seem to be fine. got sparks on both jugs. beat way to describe i would say it runs like the timing is way off?My buddy said perhaps a broken valve spring?
