I was told by a tech at BDM corporate before they closed that Daytec supplied some frames, and appareantly there was a bad run in 2004 which made it out to the public. Though most frames were caught, some slipped pass and became 2005 bikes. I believe I have one of those frames because the rear tire wears oddly and in about 2000 miles im illegal.

What does the upper motor mount look like? Does the frame anve a roll to it or does it come to more of a point?

I wish I had more money.
I think Daytec is who you are looking for not Dayton. daytec.com
Check them out and give us a report.

I searched online but have not been able to find "Dayton Frames", just motorcycle stuff in Dayton, OH. Can anyone help me in my search? Thank you.

Hey all,
Thanks for the correction (Daytec vs Dayton). I called them today and spoke to Phil. I explained my situation and told him of what I had heard of the bad frames of '04. He wouldnt admit to or confirm anything, but he did spend about 15 minutes with me explaining various thoughts and possibilities. I did ask if it could be in the back or neck and he said no. He told me to set the bike vertical and place a small level on the tranny mount plate and confirm it is level. Then place the same level on the back axle (wheel removed). He said the axle would need to be all the way back or forward for a true reading. When I get home Ill give it a try. But to be honest, as far from center as my tire is wearing, I fail to see how it cant be easily noticed while looking at it.
Any thoughts. Thank you.

The frames that were bad in 04 were Rolling Thunder dead give away on a K9 is if the clutch cable runners are welded to the frame its BigDog as the Daytec used clamps no Rolling Thunder frames were used after 04 due to the recalls

I also havent heard anything about odd tire wear from other chopper owners. I believe its because it is isolated to hardtail frames.
