Looking for 04 Pitbull exhaust

Hello fellow Big Dog owners! I just joined this forum and I'm glad I found it!!

I just purchased my first Big Dog bike - 2004 Pitbull - a few weeks ago.

The factory exhaust is a little rough and needs to be replaced. The previous owner burned his chaps on it and the pipes are also discolored....

I bought a Bassani sweeping exhaust (BD-12) but it doesn't fit (rubs against the bottom of the engine.) I'm really bummed about it!

So I'm hoping a few 04 Pitbull owners can show me some compatible pipes for my Dog!

Thanks in advance...

I wish I had more money.
Are you dead set on new pipes? You an take your slip on part off and go to any auto parts store or exhaust shop and get a three inch turn out or slash cut pipe and slide it on there. I did and has worked well for a few years now.

Let me find a photo. I'm not offended if there not for you. Just an inexpensive alternate.

I see what you're saying. Do you have a pic of yours?

The only problem is the back pipe has junk on it (looks like it's from chaps)

That doesn't look bad at all......good job! Where is the bracket for your exhaust located? Mine is on the back fork so I'm not sure if they can be free-floating or not?

Did you get it back yet? If you want to bring it by and do it over here let me know! I would be glad to help out.

Hey Mike!

Yep, I have it back. It's running better now and all ready for a safety inspection. Well, hopefully it will pass. The front brakes don't light up the brake lights because the control board is bad. I went to BD and purchased one but it was $170 with tax!! I feel like I can do without it so if it passes inspection this way I'm going to return it and save me some $$$....lol.

I actually stopped by your house Monday night to show you the bike but you weren't home... I've been riding it quite a bit and I freakin love it!!!!

Yeah, I'd like to take you up on your offer to help put the pipes on....thanks! But here's the kicker... The bracket that comes with the pipes won't fit my bike and we'll have to fabricate one. Do you have the equipment to do this? I don't... My dad does but he's 160 miles away....lol. If you don't, I'll probably just let Mac's Custom V Twins do it....

The new pipes will be here by Friday! WOOOHOOO!!!!! :2thumbs:

Hey Mike. I like what you've got there. I have an 04 Mastiff and might look at doing something similar. Did you fab a new rear bracket? Or are they floating and just mounted to the engine? Got any closer up pics? Thanks!
