Need Advice on Storage of Bike

Store it my house with riding rights.

#2. Do I??? Keep gas in the tank? Should I warn someone? Is that shed close to another structure? Say she leaks out? Do they smoke cigs? One is tossed near where your bike is? But there is a trail of gas leading to the shed? You left the carb drain open? Here is a full tank with a bad petcock. Do I need fire insurance or park the bike with a dry tank, no condensation to rust inside?

#3. Did I??? Drain the gas out of the carb when I first parked it last year?

#4. Do I??? Have an FI system? How do I drain those if not a carb with a drain screw that I forgot to keep open for the winter duration.

#5. Do I sort of be the biker guy, pull the battery, keep it in the garage all tender is my wallet? You know how sick I am, me replacing more batteries that if I did this one season at a time? I'd be batteries ahead with the original? I thinks so. Or am I sick of hearing it over and over, I need to biker up and pull my battery, lube my chain, change my oil, kind of neglect her as I have been?

Absolutely, this will work. But you could also unscrew the light bulb (assuming the unit has one) and install a plug and light adapter.

its got a light right? Then its got power going to the unit I would just tap into it and run your tender. It won't take more than 30 minutes to do a decent job, and they will never notice the extra load. Free POWER baby! That's what I did in my garage at my apt complex. (Hopefully they are not reading this, I use circular saws and all kinds of other power tools in there..ha)

I have see outlets that screw into a lightbulb sockets. If the light in your unit is a bulb, just put one of these inline and plug an extension cord in and you are good to go.

check with the manager of the property you are considering about whether or not they will allow you to mount a solar panel to run a charger. might take a little research but you may find something that will work.

Was just about to suggest the same thing. You can get solar chargers from places like Academy outdoors where they are used to charger game cameras and feeders.

I thought about that but the place doesn't have a light inside the unit. It only has big flood lights on the outside that I can't tap into. I am planning on looking in the unit again and see if there is a junction box (or whatever its called) on the line running to the flood lights. Maybe I could tap into it.

Batteries last a couple yrs, tender or not. Rich got me using Starter Fluid....three shots in the air cleaner and it fires-up on the first try no matter how long the bike sat idle. Saves the battery as well as the starter.

I probably will just move the bike to make it more convenient and live with the potential of not having access to a battery tender. Since I live right downtown and I keep my bike at a storage place off of White Horse Rd (I know the owners), it is too far out of the way for my liking. I am thinking of moving to a unit on Laurens just up from the corner where it meets Washington St. I think I will be much happier even with the lack of power to the unit and the added cost.

BTW, when are we going to catch up for a beer or a ride? We need to get together sometime this biking season. The weather is already beautiful for riding.

Absolutely......even if we meet at Extreme and go from there. The weather is killing me. We have been moving my In-Laws in to their house and I'm either in recovery mode or been worked to death.
