Unexpected dyno results

I was planning to put the .585 cam in my 06 k9. I had it dynoed at gateway bigdog last week for a baseline. As far as I know, with the exception of the exhaust,my bike is stock. It made 115 horsepower, and 128ft/lbs of torque . Judging by the power curve Tim thinks it may already have a .600 cam in it. Either that,or my bike is just a freak. I guess I'll find out whenever I get around to tearing into it.

The '06 and earlier 117's came stock with a .569 cam. The '07 and later 117's came stock with a .546 cam.
You are "somewhat" correct in you concerns of whether or NOT it's worth installing the .585 cam.
But "trust me", it is! My friend felt the same way after "first installing his .585. BUT,.... the .585 cam has a much better duration, which helps develop MORE torque! Which intern, helps improve the performance of your bike.
PLUS,... it also leaves room for "other" more powerful performance improvements! So that's a GOOD THING!

Tom, with those numbers 115hp and 128torque i would leave that thing zipped up. Members on here have spent THOUSANDS to get those kind of numbers:eek: JMO

BACK AWAY FROM THE BIKE. if those are true #'s, leave it alone. if you trust the guy and the dyno, then go by the seat of the britches on how it feels.

That's why I was finding it hard to believe it had the stock cam in it. The guy I bought her from finally answered my email today, and confirmed my suspicion. He said it has the .600 cam in it. I still need to take apart the top end anyway. Noticed the base gasket on the front cylinder is pushed out on the right side:angry:. I have s&s rocker boxes, and roller rockers to put on it too. And I now have a .585 cam that I don't need. Hopefully I can return it.
