Check with Strokers of Dallas, Big Dog of Tampa, Big Dog Performance, ebay and anyone selling their 08 and above Ridgebacks. At some point, one of these options will have something for you. You will also want to get a luggage rack with the sissy bar. They don't make saddle bags for Ridgebacks.

I would install the WP myself. A shop with experience could do it but there is satisfaction and knowledge to be gained by doing it yourself.

1) If its not broke don't fix it-You may have years of trouble free riding on BDM EHC.
2) Watch E bay and the swap meet forum here on the BDB site
I see struts W/ sissybars all the time - but you should get a 2 up seat with it.
Good luck

Maybe some day you'll find out and maybe not. There is a very good chance that your EHC will last a long time. There is a poll which I think about 50% have the original EHC. I am willing to bet that a few replaced a perfectly good EHC and fixed the real problem during the rewire!

Like it was said above, if it ain't broke then don't fix it.

I wish I had more money.
This is very true Nuke. Not to often you and I agree. But this is one for the books.

That's a 12 inch sissy bar for $250 buy it now. I bought a 18" Sissy Bar and Struts 223-000019-01 for $399.95. Seems like a reasonable price.

I have an 08 ridgeback and have had no EHC's issues yet (4,400 miles). I agree with the wait and see approach. I understand it could leave you stranded, but its hard for me to fix something that is working fine now.

5,200 miles on my '09 Ridgeback... No plans on swapping the ehc out unless it is needed. What a freakin killer bike. My VR burnt up but that did not leave me stranded. Replaced it with one from Cycle Electric as recommended on this site.

6600 miles on my 08 Ridgeback and 48,000 on my K 9. Both have EHC's and don't plan on changing until I have to. I do carry a spare with me on road trips just in case.

Hey 11b the only shop around here that I know of that has experence with installing the wire-plus is Urban Custom bikes in Fife. They installed a WP on a ridgeback several months back. You might want to call them and see how much they charge if you don't have the down time to do it yourself. (253) 517-7142
