What is the difference between "pulse cranking amps" and "cold cranking amps", I know we should have a minimum of 300 cranking amps in our bikes, but which rating is the one we should go by?

From the Braille website for what its worth "PCA (Pulse Crank Amps) is a rating specifically geared towards starting applications or high loads for very short duration loads only. In short, PCA can be thought of as HCA (hot cranking amps) for a brief measurement of time. Pulse Cranking Amps (PCA) more closely represent the type of conditions we experience in the average vehicle start. (PCA) rating does not have an “official” definition; PCA is a very short duration (typically less than 5 seconds) high rate discharge. Because the discharge is for such a short time, it is more like a pulse of current.
At this time all of Braille’s ratings are determined by using a conductance tester and calculations based on real world performance in actual conditions."

PS: Mine is 727

Which battery fits BDMs? The terminal posts are automotive style and do mot look like they fit under the seat.

How do you adapt the Braille battery to fit a BDM?

Mine fit right in and was the same size as the original.
This issue is the terminal posts on the Braille battery, round and on top, rather than square and point to the side.

I can see that it has the right dimensions.

You must have converted the hot and ground connection to clamps?

Nope,

No clamps here. Look at the pictures below.:D

What clamps would you be talking about?

I see. The photos of the battery on the web don't show that type of termi al post. Slick.

I see you still have your EHC in operation. Good luck with that.

Thanks for the photos.

I was not look forward to the WirePlus conversion, but it has made starting the bike much! much less of a load on the battery.

1. You start the bike with the lights off.
2. The engine throws over once before the ignition lights the sparks.

It doesnt work with a dead battery though.

Dead batteries don't turn anything over! Head light is off when starting with WP!

That should scare my EHC even more into working for ever. I'll just keep my WP in the original box.:D

Well, I learned and observed that the Headlights turn off for a start with an EHC also. Although, I am not sure why approximately 5 amps to run the headlight would have any effect on starting amps when the battery can supply 100's of amps. My Braille will supply around 700 CCAs!
