BDM Tribal Grips and Pegs

Anybody using the BDM Spike Tribal grip, foot pegs and shift pegs?

I'm wondering if your feet will slip off without the rubber pieces like the stock pegs?

I'm also wondering if the strange shape of the hand grips are comfortable?

I think they would look good on my bike, but it's an expensive experiment if they don't work well.

Thanks, K-9 Cor

I am in the same boat as you Cor. I would like to also know the questions you are asking about them.

I have pegs like the ones you are referring to. My feet do slip some at high speed. There isn't much slippage until I am on the interstate. At the higher speeds, the wind hitting the inside of my legs pushes my feet outward somewhat. Its not too bad but can be a little annoying on long interstate rides.

I am 6'5" though so my legs are bent a good bit even though I have extended pegs. I think that if my legs were more outstretched, I wouldn't have this issue.

I bought the Spike Chrome Shooter from Dlx, they are similiar I think to what you are looking at, I love mine, they look great and the grips feel great, much better than I anticipated. My feet do slide around a bit on the pegs at higher speeds but it's getting better as I get more accustomed to them. That might also be contributed to the fact that I also put the 3" extension kit on also. I think if I had the stock position I wouldn't really see any movement. My 2cents, hope it helps.

Oh and don't hit your head on them, they will do some damage, hard lesson learned. The third time was the charm.

As others have said, the pegs are not as comfortable as stock pegs (feet slip). The Grips are fine.

Wife's 05 has the Tribal grips, pegs, fork tube caps, and tribal shift levers. I jokingly named the bike "Vlad" (as in Vald the Impailer) because everytime I work on it, I'm bleeding from somewhere.

I love mine! Really no problem with feet slipping off but I have 3'' extensions, a 32'' inseam and pretty good soles on my riding boots. If you have a slick bottom sole, I can see how it could be more of a problem. Grips are great too just watch out for them. I have scars on my head, shoulders and back from those spikes. Got smart and put corks on the ends after I park in the garage, lol.

Thanks for the feedback. Great looking Big Dogs and pointy parts make them even better looking

My bike already has such a tribal theme, the stock grip and pegs look out of place....but my feet rarely slip at highway speeds.

Looks like BDM Performace has good prices on the grips and rider pegs. I'm not going to need the passenger pegs...no one loves me.

HAD the same issue with the pegs. Uncomfortable and my feet kept slipping off.

I tried several over the years and finally came up with these ISO-Tips.
Bought them off Amazon, not very expensive, and made a huge difference in comfort. Also the design makes for better absorbing the bikes natural vibration.
I had to make a couple of very minor modifications for fit, but other than that I won't use anything else. They're not too big to look awkward either.

I am trying to picture how they would look. Can you take a pic of them on the bike?

I'll try and get you a picture in the next couple of days.
Just keep in mind they are just a bit short, and will fold down on you.
I put a couple of small welds on the ends to keep them up straight, really no big deal

I slip on the pegs alittle at high speeds but nothing really to worry about. Granted I do have the rubbers on the pegs. The hand grips feel fine.

I think they look good and this winter I am getting the tribal feet controls (sorry about wrong terminology)
