Another Breather Bracket ?

I take it, Wimmer is the only company out there that makes a breather bracket with a fitting at the bottom for the rear head ventilation tube? I have searched this forum high and low, the web, and called D&M. I believe my brother and I both have the D&M #JT-02113 bracket, but his has a fitting at the bottom and hose like the wimmer, and mine doesn't. I'm not running the hose to the bottom of the bike and don't want to change to the wimmer because it's design is completely flat and I like the bracket that contours around the carb. I'm guessing I need to have a machine shop install a 3/16" barb into the bracket I have now?

I talked to D&M and they said they stopped the JT-02113 design since someone stole the design and the crush washers don't always seal very well. If I don't go with fabbing the D&M and just buy a Wimmer, would I still be able to use the D&M elbow or have to buy a Wimmer elbow as well? Also, can I use a D&M spike with a Wimmer bracket and elbow? I haven't been able to get in touch with anyone @ Wimmer.

You can use the spike with the Wimmer Bracket that should not be a problem.

I apologize I can't help with the rear head breather, as I have an 04 with a different breathing system I think. Mine breaths through the banjo head bolts, I just purchased the D&M Breather DM-53. I haven't installed it yet as I'm still trying to figure out what to do with my crankcase breather which is currently routed to the back plate of the stock S&S.

The rocker Box Breather Vent/rear cylinder line has a check valve(a one way check valve) - as the front cylinder is vented into the carb manifold on the Newer S&S Motors .
Having oil dissipate from older S&S engines from the crank vent and rear cylinder(those S&S engines with banjo head bolt breather systems) *can* have issues with too much oil coming out and thus it creates a mess(which SUCKS) and there are resevoir systems to make the banjo head bolt breather system 100% cleaner (lines dump into a tiny enclosed "dump"cylinder that has a small vented K&N Filter on top).
I've made several of these for people running older dual cylinder banjo breather engines (like My Own 107" S&S Evo).
I know you mentioned that You liked the *Spike* and you can use it (as the reply/Member before me posted)....maybe that elbow from Wimmer will work with the unit you wanna run...?

I've not had any experience with the manifold/breather system from Wimmer mentioned before my post for the older S&S engines .Are you having alotta oil mist on your engine that needs to be vented/collected...?

Not to hijack this guys thread but Vince what are you doing with your crankcase breather on your 107? I'm able to route the head breathers through the D&M bracket so I wont need to worry about running any dump lines from the heads. However, I'm still trying to figure out my best solution for the crankcase, I prefer to not install a puke can if I can get away with it, and I'm worried about just dumping it to the ground and all the dirt, etc.

I have a Wimmer and it shits all sown the side of the bike regularly. Im on the verge of running them to the exhaust like you did. Im sick of it.

Well, my dad is running a wimmer setup and I compared his setup with mine briefly. Fortunately, I have a friend that's a mechanical engineer and has a machine shop so he just fabbed a 3/16" barb into the DM bracket JT-02113. It looks great! If I have some time, I'll take some pics and post them up.

I'm thinking about drilling and tapping it myself, would love to see your pics!

I went easy route and found a mini air filter the same color as my air cleaner. No problems so far. jus sayin

I would like to have a bracket that would allow it to vent into my air cleaner as the stock setup did.

Here they are! Can anyone tell me how to post these up straight into the thread instead of thumbnails?
This bracket looks like it was made for the older style engines 2004 and earlier. It has the breather through the bolts into the heads.

Regardless seems like your mod will work just fine!

to post the images in a thread use
[ img]HTTP://XXXX.COM[/img ] NO Spaces at beggining and end though, had to put them in for you to see
I'm just throwing this out there as I'm still trying to figure out how to run my crankcase breather on the bottom of the engine. I am wondering if I should run to a puke can, or if I can just put a filter on it. I think the pre-05's spit heavily out the crankcase from what I have read?

This is for 04 and earlier, works fine with the modification. I'm not a fan of the newer ones. They're all flat and look chincy. These contoured brackets are the best looking breather brackets in my eyes. All that's needed is to tap a 3/16" barb into the bottom.

Agreed, I like the look of the one solid unit. :flag:

Curious now that you have the topend/head breathers figured out. Where are you routing your bottom end/crankcase breather hose now?

Sorry man, I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm pretty new to the MC world. I've wrenched on some high HP muscle cars, but I only got a few months experience w/ MC's. I've been reading a lot and learning a lot. Got my bike stripped down pretty good and will be starting a winter build thread soon. Any pics of this bottom breather? The only breathing hoses I know of are the front and rear heads for 05 and newer.

Hey Nuk.
Can you tell me what the measurement from center of hole to center of hole on the bolt holes on your bracket? I have a couple extra brackets here but not sure if they are for the 107" or the 117".
