You can buy the bolts from a Harley dealer or parts supplier. Remember you own a Big Dog, If your stressing over a broken bolt, I foresee a lot of stress in your future.

Thanks nine. Stressing mostly because I am over seas. I have to wait to get parts normally but hopefully the Italian Harley shop has the same bolts. This primary is kicking my but. First it was the stripped drain plug, gasket seems too small, not I break a bolt just when I thought of riding. Any tips on getting the gasket in those grooves easier?

If you remove the gasket carefully, wipe the oil off the primary and the gasket again carefully, use some silicone on a few spots to hold the gasket in place and install the primary cover.

not recommending you do this but i have seen it happen. cut the gasket and start laying it in with the joint at the center top with a LIGHT amount of silicone in the groove. stretch the gasket if you have to to make it close up. (this was done to me once----once. now i do it myself without cutting it.)

take a deep breath  Clean those bolt holes out good use a very small brissel brush / almost a pipe cleaner

New or old gasket? Lay the gasket out where it matches the shape and start putting it in. Fun stuff.....

You can cut the gasket like Woodbutcher said, just make sure you put the cut at the top. The bolts are 1/4-20 (1/4" 20 threads per inch) chrome grade 8 but on your primary cover stainless will be fine. Most hardware stores should have them. I believe they are 1/2" but 3/4" should work.
