That's fucking interesting! Great Idea to use an electric winch to lift it.
Fucking model citizen you are! :flag:I also pay for shareware if I like it...
I was also going to build one, but to buy one for less then $300 bucks, I figured I could just modify the chinese lift with some American eginuity.I bought the plans for $25 (also bought his plans for a press) because he spent the time to design the thing, and having a cut list will save you a shitload of time and aggravation. Ken I just checked and I dont see the 1200# unit, I only paid $479.00 and it's built like a Tank!:down:Hey All, I really appreciate all the input and info. It is helping me out a lot on making a decision.
Since two of you have mentioned other Harbor Freight models (and I know they use to sell 3) I went on their site and I only see the one on the coupon I posted. Does anyone know if the other two are still available? (I think BBChopper and Brew have those other models)
I especially appreciate the links to mods that have been done. Welding on mods is no problem for me.
Thanks, Shovelcowboy
Thanks for the link, Pablo! I appreciate it! Considering ALL options.Ken I just checked and I dont see the 1200# unit, I only paid $479.00 and it's built like a Tank!

+275 on shipping costs, brings the ramp to about $800.00. You can pick up the Harbor Freight for $500.00 less!!!! and add extensions for + sides and save at least 400-500Ken I just checked and I dont see the 1200# unit, I only paid $479.00 and it's built like a Tank!

As much as I would like to go 'top-of-the-line', I am thinking like you. Shipping really adds $$$ to a heavy item like this and there are now so many Harbor Freight stores, you can just pick one up. Also I haven't heard any real negative comments from forum members who have this "cheaper' lift.+275 on shipping costs, brings the ramp to about $800.00. I'm watching this thread daily, and the more I look it the better the harbor freight deal looks for $299 - PICKED UP LOCAL!!! ....
FYIFYI, I am sticking to my Jack. It does everything I need it to do. Plus, you need to work out and strengthen your back. It needs to last a lifetime!
FYI
Obviously you don't do builds from the ground up. And probably don't wrench on your bike much. And most likely aren't as old as me.
I am glad you are happy with your jack and may you be blessed with a strong back in your old age (and may your bike never fall off your jack).
AND just maybe you should STOP with the "FYI", especially when what you say doesn't apply to the thread, and sometimes I think just maybe no one really cares about all your "FYI" comments on nearly every post.:bang:
If I have offended you or if I am wrong with my comments, I sincerely apologize.

I don’t know quite how to take that comment!FYI, I am sticking to my Jack. It does everything I need it to do. Plus, you need to work out and strengthen your back. It needs to last a lifetime!
