My 2008 K9 has what I believe to be the original battery. A 270 CCA BDM Battery. IT was dead and wouldn't spin the engine over. I charged it back to life, however IM not comfortable with it. I also needed a charger.
I ran across the ETX-20L Big Crank Battery and Battery Tender Plus combo for $131.90 at Battery Mart.
Battery is MFG. by Deka/East Penn out of PA USA. They come with a 1 yr. MFG. warranty.
EAST PENN manufacturing co., inc.: Lead-Acid Batteries; Battery Manufacturers; Thousands of Different Types of Batteries, Cable & Wire Product
I like what I read about Deka batteries, but honestly I know nothing of them. Hope this works out........

After three bad batteries from a "Batteries Plus / Battery Mart" type place (all with warranty) finally decided to spend the extra bucks on a Harley one for my Street Glide. When I returned the third "brand new" battery I told them I would go elsewhere and wanted my money back (PAID CASH) they said they would be happy to refund me, in the form of a check written from their home office. I received my money almost a whole month later. Will never deal with those types again. My two pennies.

I nearly went with a Harley battery because you can get it replaced at so many different locations. That alone makes those batteries worth consideration. I dont know who makes those batteries for them. For $131.00 for the battery and charger I thought what the hell.

No Harley shop close to you in PC though! Dothan or Ft. Walton are closest. Go talk to the girls at Ron's Kawasaki if you ever need anything. They have been real good to my dad and can get just about any part for any bike needed. Pricing is very fair!

Yeah, I've done business with them, I have 2011 KLR 650 from there.
A Harley dealership has broke ground here in Panama City out at the beach. Dont know when they're due to open.

Dont think they have broken ground yet. It is the dealership out of Tampa and it got tied up with financial issues about two years ago. It is still supposed to happen, and they are putting a test track in as well, which will be first of it's kind for Harley. They have just let the sign stay up. If you notice the since says supposed to open fall of 2010.

I have not been by there, but about a week ago it was on the local news that all issues have been resolved and work was to begin within the week. I'll check it out myself

There are only a handful of manufacturers that make most of the automotive batteries in the U.S. No matter what brand label they have on them. Exide, and Deka are two of the bigger ones. So yes Deka makes a qaulity product.

Outstanding, based on what you guy's are saying I think I made a good choice. It and the charger came in today so its charging now as I write this. Green light is already flashing so it was pretty well charged and ready to go.

Cool, let me know. It would be nice to have a Harley shop when we go down for Thunder Beach.
Wife's shop is near there so she scoped it out today, property is cleared and fill dirt delivered, but no activity. Construction permits have been pulled.

I do Believe this is the only Battery any dog will ever need. I have been through 2 Braille, 1 Big Boar and the original BDM Battery. This one here has some balls at 465 CCA. I put that sucker on there and it spins that starter like no tomorrow. I took the Braille off my Dog and put in my Harley Trike and works good on there but would not start the dog click click click is all I ever got. I like this bad boy

Good info Carlos. I might try it once my Braille dies if it every does. I am of the opinion that you either get a good battery or you don't. I had a fellow shipmate in the Navy who abused the crap out of his care battery and it lasted 10 years. For example, he completely discharged it on many occasions, lost most of the electrolyte and refilled it with plain tap water, and did no maintenance on it.

FYI, my Braille puts out 727 CCA's!:whoop:

OK, I'm sold. I'm going to order a TR Battery now.

Last night the battery died at the bar. I was about to follow a chic to her apartment for...whatever.

I got a jump from a buddy's car who was still at the bar. Its always bad timing when the battery dies.

If this Deka I got goes out prematurely I will try the TR as well. IM more interested however in a batteries longevity than CCA as long as the CCA is rated properly for the job at hand.
