I could really use some advice here. Riding home from work at Ft. Campbell and my 08 Ridgeback just completely lost power. I coasted to the side of the road before I was hit by traffic. I turned the key on and off but no power at all going to the bike. I'm assuming my EHC finally went out and I'm fine with that so I can get it replaced.

How can I really tell if the EHC went out and needs to be replaced and is the Wire Plus the one to go with? If anyone is in the area, I sure could use your help and who would you guys recommend to switch out the EHC? I don't plan on getting rid of my bike; I love it way too much. I can't wait to get it fixed and ride again. :flag::flag::flag::bang::angry:

I live by exit 11 off I-24 on the bypass and will look it over with ya if you need some help. I have plenty of time on my hands due to shoulder surgery.

May be the battery or a few otherr things as well as the EHC. Be throwing money at new EHC or replacement, best to go through everything starting with battery and work you way from there.

Also keep in mind that if the battery went low or a minor issue from the EHC, after all the other steps-if EHC is still not looking well, give a cahnce to reset.

I think it is basically disconnect battery (making sure it is good), then pull starter solidnoid wire off starter, turn key on for like 30 min or so. Someone else may have a better description of the reset procedure but I would give that a try also, but only after everything else is check and before a change out.

If you do change out the EhC various options from an old school wiring job, to WP or PDM.

Good luck and get up with Nomad, he has offered to help you out by looking at it.

My 08 ridgeback did that exact same thing. It was the battery. I think a plate came loose. I put a new battery in it and it has been fine ever since. As others here have said "check the battery" first.

I just put a new battery on the bike in June. I have the bike at Bo's Cycle Shop right now but thinking about going and getting it and having Nomad take a look at it. Thanks.

It will be well worth the trip to have Nomad2day school you on the Bigdog behind the curtain maintenance and systems functions.

I put a battery in once and it was bad right out of the box. A battery put in your bike in June could still have gone bad by now. Good luck!

Let me know if you want to go through it. I already have my battery out of my bike and on a tender seeing how I pulled my transmission out and sent it in to Baker. You can come get it if you wish.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes but I am more than happy to go through your bike with you or for you.
I have a garage here at my house if you want to bring it here or your place , don't matter. You can leave it over here if you wish and we can go through it.
Just me and my girlfriend here. I have therapy 9-10am today and 9:30-10:30am Thursday but free all the rest of the time....
