More questions about the dog??

Energy One
Yes, we are new the big dog. We have always loved the bike, and so happy to have finally gotten one. Sadly, we have had nothing but troubles!! I posted earlier about our starting problems. Thanks to all that helped!! After hearing all your suggestions, the great info from Raywood, and visiting with TimNY, I purchased a new battery and made me a jump wire to carry with me until I get the push button for the starter ordered.

We have put 226 miles on this bike, went out this evening to jump on it and go with my jump wire, and there is not a single drop of oil on the dipstick!! Is this normal? The previous owner said it was completely serviced before he went on a 500 mile ride. We purchased it from him, and had it delivered. It was on the top of the full mark when we received it. Checked it again after about 150 miles of our 226, and still full. Now, none! There is no oil under or on the bike.

We are so scared that we got took on this bike. I sure hope we are just having starter biker troubles.

Thanks so much for all your input!:( :bang:

If the bike sits for a while the oil drains from the tank to the sump. Start it up, make sure the oil pressure light goes out, let it warm up and ride it for a few miles and then check it. Probably be full.

It has been sitting for 7 1/2 days. We'll go try that. It shouldn't hurt it as long as the light goes out rite? Was scared to start it with no oil on stick! Thanks!!

If Blacktoppers suggestion works and I agree with him then you need to clean your check valve on the oil pump. Easy to do.

Thanks!! Will do this in the morn, and let you know. I'll be asking how to do that then! Sure hope it works!! Really love the bike, but it just keeps making me wonder?

I'm afraid it wasn't as well cared for as we had hoped.

Sure appreciate all of your guys help!!

ok, finally got the time to run the dog, and you guys were rite!! After running, shut it off, and oil is full. So now comes the question of how do I clean my check valve?

I have another starting issue I will post separately if anyone could help with that too?

Thanks so much!!
