What's That Hole For?

If you're sitting on the bike there's a hole, with what looks like an allen head plug in it,in the underside of the gas tank back right side. It's got a lot of sealant compound around the threads.Actually kind of a crude sealant job done on it.What would that whole have been used for,if anything?Or why would someone have put it there?Someone's gotta know the answer to this.,BTW,it's an '05 Chopper RT w/ 3300 miles.A pic will follow,if needed!

It's a vent line for the Kalifornia models (C.A.R.B.) that require the charcoal canister

I ride my bike here in Vegas year round, and had a problem in the summer when temps. reach 100+ for weeks at a time.
The bike would stall if I parked, and then I got back on it after 10-20 minutes. It was vapor lock because there was no air circulation in the gas tank, and I didn't have the CA. emissions.
It also bubbled the paint around the gas cap, both on my '05, and '07 choppers. Big Dog had to do my tanks twice before I figured out why.
I took off the sealant (pain in the azz), and ran a rubber vent tube down to the bottom of the bike, for circulation. Problem solved.:whoop:
