Ok so I just bought a 07 Pitbull about 2 months ago and have had nothing but problems. Replaced the Headlight twice the speedo and speed sensor, battery, starter solenoid and the last time I replaced the headlight the plug was melted so I replaced that as well. And keep in mind that everything was a separate occurrence with in about a months time frame. OK so everything was working fine for about 4 days and was riding it when it just shut off. No power anywhere. Got it home thinking it was the battery or something stupid but it was fine. After it was out of the sun light I noticed the blinker and oil lights on the gauge where slightly lighted up and the key was in the off position. Turned it to the on position and noticed the lights dimmed ever so slightly. Called the local shop and was told its the EHC and it has to all be rewired and its going to cost $1,100 so I called another place and they agreed but they could use the wire plus kit and it would be about the same cost as the rewire and new everything including new controls. :bang: So My question is A. What should I do or could it be something else that is wrong???

Are you looking to fix the bike yourself? And, if so, have you done ANY searching on this site for possible answer?
Or are you looking for advice on whether or not you should have the bike re-wired? A WirePlus installed? Or whether you should do it yourself?
If you're looking for advise on how to fix your own bike it would be much easier if we had a photo of your bike and a little history about it and you so we know what your troubleshooting ability is. You could put that information here...

I had the same thought.
Thoroughly check the ground wire connections on the battery terminals, especially the ones that go to the EHC.

Yes I checked all the grounds and so far haven't found any problems with grounding. I don't know the history of the bike since I gust bought it 2 months ago and the place I got it from didn't know anything or chose not to disclose. lol The big dog place says to bring it in and they have another ehc they can put on it to be sure that is the problem but they want to charge $250 just to plug the thing in. Ya I don't think so! haha

So what does the bike do right now when the key is OFF?
What does it do when you turn the key ON? When you hit the RUN button? START button?
What are the EHC lights doing during each step? Are there any other lights ON that should be OFF or OFF that should be ON?

Everyone with a BDM needs to cut out there headlight connector and replace with a ceramic BEFORE they have a headlight problem. Your headlight burning out and melting the connector may have back fed to your ECH and taken it out.
So everyone, go get a ceramic connector and solder it in or you will be riding home in the dark and killing your ECH.

I wouldn't even start looking for number and trying to figure out which EHC you have. I have a 2006 Mastiff that has electrical problems shortly after I bought it new. I replaced the ECH, the head light bulbs, ignition switch, Battery, hand control boards, to name a few and it would still cut off by itself just running down the road, would start only if it felt like it and at times would work great. I head of Wire Plus from Jake a member on here who sells the product. (http://www.bigdogbiker.com/forums/dto_vendor.php?do=click&id=1007) I rewired my Dog late 2006 early 2007 and have not had one Electrical problem since. If you want to ride than go with the wire plus, if you want to chase gremlins get another ECH nuff said.
